The real reason I think Hoya won't fight Margo is because ex-sparring partners are very dangerous. They have endless practice in figuring you out. Mosley was an ex sparring partner and we saw the result of that. Margo lost to Williams who was Margo's ex sparring partner. Margo claims to have gotten the better of Hoya just as Williams claimed to have gotten the better of Margo.

The real reason is he knows he can't beat Margarito. In fact, he would lose brutally, inside the distance. He's not going to end his career on the wrong end of a bad beatdown.:smoke :smoke

Plenty of fighters beat up their ex-sparring partners in real fights.

The real reason is that DLH can make more money against the smaller Pacquiao, who's less likely to beat or give a tough fight to DLH.

Unless something happened when they sparred which I am not aware of I can only go by styles and I see Hoya's style as very bad for Marg rather than the reverse. Marg would get beaten by a good jab and a good hook. You saw how many hooks he took from Cotto and he ate jabs all night from Williams. Dlh's hook is much more devastating than Cotto's. Marg has a great body attack but he has to get inside to use it. Marg's superiority I think is only in going the full twelve as fresh or sometimes fresher than he is in the early rounds. If fight goes distance I do see Marg winning but not brutally.

He'll make more millions fighting Pacquiao than Margarito.

And Pac-Man is a much easier fight.

Those are the main two reasons that this circus is more likely than Margarito-DLH.

You do realize that everyone that won those fights was an ex-sparring partner as well, right? In fact, ex-sparring partners win exatly 50% of the time, so that doesn't really mean anything.

By the way, Oscar is all wrong for Margo. Too much reach with too good a jab.

Margo ain't no walk in the park for Oscar. But he should be able to beat him because of his style.

You had better start judging something else because judging (pun intended) by your comment, you suck at judging.

I think is more that DLH doesn't want to go out with a loss. He knows that at this stage of his career he has no stamina to fight Margo for 12 rds and doesn't think he can win that fight. On the other hand he has every physical advantage over Pacman and it's a very winnable fight.
