It does seem some fighters are more willing to take on the biggest fights and fighters, often without due credit. Win or lose they deserve a mention - COTTO, fought alot of top WWs and agreeded to come in at 145lb to fight Pacquiao. - BARRERA, fought alot of top guys between s batam and s feather - De La Hoya, gone through the weights taking on tough challenges - W & V KLITSCHKO people can disagree but they have taken on almost all of the top heavies, and dont shy away from the challenges - KESSLER, sure he lost to Calzaghe and just recently to Ward but he took those 2 fights away, defended against Mundine away and and not hid from SMW challenges - FROCH, has alot of critics but love him or hate him in his last 4 fights, 3 of them were against undefeated fighters, one of which is now WBC LHW champ, defended away to Taylor and is away next time defending against Kessler - HAYE, won his 1st world titles away at CW, unified in his 1st fight after, later won his HW title away What other world current world class fighters can you mention who are willing to take on all comers, without weight stipulations, or who have been found with illegal substances in there system at some point in there careers?
Taking the 3rd weakest option after all the **** talking he did about the HW's and how boring they are only to go on and fight the weakest title holder in a safety first performance. All of this after ducking option #1 and #2!
Williams! And of course Juan Manuel Marquez. Bad move to fight Floyd on his terms, but JMM bit off more than he could chew on that one. Still, he took on Chris John in Indonesia, got robbed, fought Rocky Juarez who always has a punchers chance, and Floyd. Those guys he didn't really have to fight. Yet he still wants that 3rd one with Pacman. I think Marquez is to Pacquiao what Frazier was to Ali. Ali was beating everyone left and right, but Frazier ALWAYS was going to take him to the edge.
I think he is making plans after his mandatory obligations to meet one of them, also if he had of fought one of them at the time it was 1st agreed he would have had a large amount of obligations to fulfill, at least this way he goes to the table as more of an equal. Looking at his history I have no doubt he will meet one of them if negotiations can be reached, do you not think he will ever meet one of them?
Clearly by this post you acknowledge that he doesnt take on all comers. Bonin Barret Valuev Ruiz...saviour my ass.His HW resume is looking that of an ancient Holyfield's recent resume.
Shane Mosley, he takes on avoided guys Collazo, Wright, Forrest, Margarito. Gave rematches to his closest fights Vargas and DLH and trys to avenge his losses.
