Haye has done pretty well for 22 fights. Anyone who thinks he's scared of fighting anyone is a ****ing moron.
He's been in way too many battles lately. He needs to take some time away from boxing and just recuperate..come back and see if boxing is still for him.
Because his standard of opposition has been, especially for a british fighter, very high standard. Even tho he got beat, the fact he took on Carl Thompson, a legit top 10 fighter and champion with 50+ fights under his belt in his 10th fight, shows everything about this guys mindset. Loves a war, and matches himself hard, and even took a loss early in his career over it. Was it his 8th or 9th fight he fought Arthur Williams? Williams was like top 15-20, ex IBF champion, a proper veteran, and he ****ing obliterated him. Again, he chose to fight Mormeck, on a Don King card, in France, rather than mess about with lesser champions. He made Enzo Mac wait for his chance to get knocked out. His career, especially early on, was very impressive because he fought good calibre opponents early on and fought regularly. His attitude has always been that of a warrior, and it makes me laugh that some ignorant people who haven't seen this try saying he pussied out of a Klitschko fight. I dont think he ducked the Klitschko's, I just think he wanted to have a better bargaining position for the fights by getting some good wins under his belt at heavyweight. He wants the fight, just on his terms, not theirs. Which is only what any other sensible fighter would do in the circumstances.
