Very puzzling that Foreman would have called out Holmes in 1976 (Foreman-LeDoux fight) as George would have had nothing to gain from a Holmes bout at this point. Larry was n't really on the radar at this juncture. In fact it was n't until he fought Earnie Shavers two years down the line that Holmes became a major player in the heavyweight picture. Surely it would have been more logical the other way about - Holmes calling out Foreman, as George was the big established name and Holmes the hungry up and comer. I'm not questioning your source, but it does n't really make sense.

One of the best match ups of all, leaning towards Sanchez by UD no knockdowns, but plenty of hard shots given and taken.
What about Palomino/Ceavus ? me thinks Palominos great chin and stamina, points to a late stoppage or KO. keep well.

I've got a couple more about Steele & McAvoy, but I'd have to look through my Files, which are listed by years and not names or sub folders, so it can be gruelling.

I'm currently putting together a 1500 - 2000 Report Scrapbook, Undisputed Career Facts and after that I was thinking about building a few miscellaneous Scrapbooks, i.e 1930's & 40s HW Reports and down the weights like that.

I thought man if I build these and Photo Copy them, some diehards might like Copies on Disc, Stick or Printed Out.

let me finish my current one first!

Regarding Foreman calling out Holmes around the time George fought LeDoux, Larry had broken his hand against Roy Williams on the Ali-Young card. Larry didn't fight again until January 1977 against Tom Prater, a week before George fought Pedro Agosto (Foreman was supposed to fight Larry Middleton, but Middleton was forced to pull out due to eye issues).

Maybe Foreman could have fought Holmes in January. It would have been a nice Saturday afternoon Wide World of Sports fight between two top-five contenders, Foreman at #1 and Holmes at #5. For the fans, anyway. For the fighters, Foreman would have been risking his already-scheduled prime time fight against #3 Jimmy Young, and Holmes probably needed to shake off the rust and test the hand against a less risky opponent.

So you’re saying everyone was afraid of Foreman and ducked him?

Right Foreman and his people stated since they couldn't get Ali in the ring they wanted to beat up his ex sparring partner to maybe force Ali to fight Foreman again.

Actually you can find Jerry Quarry talking about this before Foreman fought LeDoux. Who ever the other guy was who was commentating with Quarry asked Jerry "What is the deal with the Foreman vs Holmes bout". Quarry stated that Larry Holmes people say they weren't going to let Larry in the ring with that "animal" George Foreman.

Lol I will type this little kid and then I will block you. Foreman called out Mike Tyson. This is a fact. Tyson clearly didn't want to fight Foreman. George Foreman called out Riddick Bowe. Bowe decided to back out of the fight stating Foreman wanted too much money. Go to the post fight of Foreman vs Pierre Coetzer so you can hear Foreman and then Bowe state this. During that same Interview Foreman said he wanted to fight Lennox Lewis because Lewis didn't duck him yet like Bowe did. Here is the link to why Larry Holmes and Foreman never fought. https://www.*******.com/why-we-see-foreman-vs-holmes-1970s--1622 The point is Foreman called out Larry Holmes. The point is Larry Holmes and his people didn't want any part of Foreman

This article was written decades later, didn’t take into account that Holmes’ inactivity after April was due to his broken hand, and obviously didn’t use contemporary sources, i.e. newspaper archives.
