So beating a fringe top 10-15 guy in Thompson gets Scott into your top 20? Despite the fact he'd already drew (beat) Glazkov, who most had in their top 10 until he lost to Martin? And also beat Leapai? I have Scott solidly in the top 15, near top 10, Stiverne around 8, Spilka around 18 (this reminds me I should update my top list). Price beat Tor Hamer, who was top 30-35ish at his peak.
I can't rank anyone in top50 with a SD win over Tor Hamer, but you can make a case for Scott in top15 now. Stiverne drops to somewhere around 15-20 after his performance against Rossy. And I never rated Charr or Leapai(both of whom are K Bros' worst title defences by far) so no place for Duhaupas.
Doubt it. Takam is basically a more aggressive Stiverne, without the chin of Stiverne. Wilder likely knocks him out.
Probably, but the aggressiveness might not suit Wilder. If Povetkin wins (and I actually think Wilder beats Povetkin) then I think Takam would also have a good chance. If Wilder beats Povetkin I don't think Takam would have any chance, he'll have answered a lot of remaining questions and staked his claim as one of two comparable champs.
Duhaupas were OK, but he were unable to pull the trigger and a little bit to slow. Not top 30 boxrec has him in 36 due. To beat Wilder you only need to be tall, have a good reach, be normal built (thus heavier than Deontay), some aggressiveness and some decent B-level skills. A combination of Molina and Duhaupas's skills would be enough, really. Many heavyweights pass this checklist easy. Hughie Fury for instance would outbox Wilder by miles.
Agreed. Way I see it, Wilder has three things to prove. His chin and how he handles a swarmer. Those are questions he will answer with Povetkin. The third is how he handles fighters his height, which he will likely get to answer later with a Fury or a Joshua. Stiverne was really conservative with him, Wilder proved that fight he could box though, he easily outboxed Stiverne. I think after Spzilka there is little doubt about his power, and that he did it late in the fight says something for his stamina. Spzilka was a stylistic anomaly, a very mobile southpaw with good head movement. I think he will land on Povetkin much easier than Spzilka, but Povetkin is much more dangerous as a puncher and tougher, no question there. So I don't think the Spzilka fight said much one way or another about his ability to beat Povetkin.
You have proven my point--those here all tough fights that you cite. The point is that Wilder has struggeld against many including Duhaupas. An others have done much better against Molina. Not at all a controversial point. Wilder's resume puts him at about #7 in the world, but he is in danger of fallin gform 8-11 in the next few months.
The fat Russian that keeps stalling...and all the internet losers calling him a wimp from the safety of cyberspace.
I meant the fat russian name Povetkin...the one that keeps stalling his own mandatory for Wilder's title.
Seriously, almost 25% put him out of the top 10? If you're that stupid or biased, at least have the guts to name the fighters would you would put above him. I guess if you have blind faith he's not as good as his record and that he'll lose a lot at some point, h2h is one thing, if that's what people are voting on. But resume wise, you can only make solid, persuasive arguments for about 5. You can make halting, semitenable arguments for 3 or 4 others. There is simply no rational argument that resume wise he is outside the top 10 though. Name 15 fighters you'd put above him on resume and I'll absolutely destroy the bottom 6 or 7's resume in relation to him. The OP shows the ones frequently put above him and their resume's are demonstrably less than his.
