I see a lot of people saying they want garcia/matthysse but realistically that's not going to happen. This fight is a HUGE event, and while i believe it will be a solid undercard, they won't stack it with guys who can headline their own cards.... Leo Santa Cruz vs Victor Terrazas i would bet on... Victor Ortiz vs Maidana/Lopez winner in a rematch? a money team fighter probably to open the card, maybe Love again vs angulo/lara winner? or a rosado rematch? Share your thoughs...
We will end up getting at least 1 of those boring TMT dudes guaranteed. Other than that i'd expect at least Santa Cruz & Or Mares on the card. Would be cool if Garcia/Matthyesse would be on.
Santa Cruz and Mares will be on the card but they will not face eachother yet. Mares will face a guy who went from losing all of his fights to becoming a silver title champion - Robinson Castellanos. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=107320&cat=boxer I hope Mares isn't on the undercard anymore lol
Victor Terrazas is supposed to be fighting Nonito Donaire. Donaire decided to stay at bantamweight to grab up Terrazas' belt. This is what I heard, though. I don't think Leo Santa Cruz or Abner Mares will fight any big named fighters. There aren't many on GBP at the moment. I would've loved to see Leo step up and fight these British dudes like Frampton or Quigg. Last I heard, though Jayson Velez, Cotto managed guy, was (I think) mandatory for Ponce. Since he got injured, Abner Mares took his place. Velez isn't a bum and shouldn't be slept on. I'd love to see him fight Mares; I think Mares takes it, but it should be a damn good fight. Everyone loves seeing Mexico vs. Puerto Rico. I think this is the best fight to be made for Mares right now. The talentless Money Team will bring in their roided bums as usual, though.
I hope that Austin Trout gets a spot. There are plenty of names out there for him. I was kinda hoping that Ishe Smith vs. Carlos Molina would be featured even though it´s gonna be a bad fight. Those two deserve that exposure and a nice payday. Garcia vs. Matthysse is too big of a fight to put on an undercard.
