Realistically, do you Expect JCC Jr to do Better than Pavlik and PW?

Chavez stops guys by accumalation, so Sergio won't be in much danger of getting stopped in those situations, unless the ref is Lawrence Cole.

 

You're right, Chavez isn't overly impressive. The qualities that have impressed me is the authority with which he throws his punches, his chin and tenacity. Nothing about his boxing is one for the record books. But, it doesn't always take a great fighter to beat another great fighter on any given night.

 

He's going to Box. He'll be circling Junior, not moving backwards.

your right. sergio seems to have a deep dislike for chavez. but i'm just comparing the two fights. a smaller southpaw with speed and respectable power against a bigger agressive come foward fighter who has a great chin but doesn't move his head much.

 

1. Williams- Most avoided fighter in his prime.
2. Kelly - Alcoholic, but still favorite to win. Some think he even ducked Williams.
3. Macklin-Proven, tough fighter who beat Sturm who in turn beat Zbik more convincingly than Jr.
4. Dzinziruk- Beat Santos a southpaw with a win over Margarito and Alcine. Beat better version than the one Foreman beat.
5. Chavez Jr/Barker - Solid wins over Lee and Rubio. Barker Eurochamp undefeated with good defensive style could give any 160lber a run for their money.
6. Cintron- Cintron fresh off win over dangerous Perro Angulo, very inconsistent tho.

 

I'm a huge Maravilla fan, but Chavez has an awfully good chin.

I'd love a KO but I expect this to go to the judges. Maybe Sergio will be so dominant that even Arum's three "employees" won't be able to give the fight to Jr.

There's always hope.

 

If this becomes the case the only hope is top rank has an option on Sergio!
