What are your thoughts?? What could be Sergio's last big fights? 1. Chavez Jr said he wants a rematch. Which I don't want to see but I sadly think it's totally possible. 2. Golovkin: GGG is not much younger & is about to fight Kamil. Might as well fight Sergio not much else going on. (?) Don't act like GGG isn't up for the freak show
His knee buckles in training and he retires again.. I loved Sergio but he shouldn't be fighting again
A Chavez rematch is on the table as it seems, but I really hope Sergio doesn´t take it. Chavez is even bigger now. Ffs, the dude can´t even make 168 anymore. But I am hoping that Martinez fights another journeyman. I would love to see him in the ring one more time.
If Oscar is serious about a comeback then thats basically the perfect match for both. Two shot to bits ex champs in their mid to late fourites, prob evenly matched, would likely get a fair bit of casual attraction saves either being embarrassingly smashed up by an active boxer.
All fights should be at 160, each fight serves a purpose. Path A (important for legacy beating every man he faced to build a big ATG fight) Path B1 and B2 are for the ATG fight, facing DLH at 160 will be an excellent fight, if DLH loses he brings in Canelo. Floyd an alternative path, Martinez will have to get a 160 belt to lure in Floyd to get his claim at 160 Path A Antonio Margarito II Miguel Cotto II Path B-1 Oscar De La Hoya Canelo Path B-2 160 belt Floyd Mayweather
I think he should just try and make some money fighting lower level or retired fighters. His time at the top is over and I don't want to see him get beat up by the elite of today's fighters.
A lot of competitions locally, many alphabet soup titles, bound to put people in seats. What a Wise man (get in where you fit in) type mentality.
