After last nights desperate showing from 'Money' Mayweather, where does he go from here?

I'm pretty sure every fan wants him to really prove his worth and finally reach out to Manny Pacquiao but that's never going to happen, even more so after last night....so where next for Floyd?

Will he retire? I doubt it, why should he?

Rematch with Chino Maidana? I think this is a nail on certain fight...similar to Castillo II, Floyd would probably win the rematch very convincingly and squashing doubts that he's past it...of course any real observer of the sport would know different but to the general public it'll return his status as untouchable.

Fight Amir Khan? Another fight I think will happen whenever Khan is ready to fight after Ramadan. Summer 2015 most likely. If Khan meets Broner in Oct/Nov and wins then it's a dead cert to fight Floyd imo.

Third fight? Cotto rematch? Martinez? Canelo rematch? I'm not so sure...

I'm pretty certain Floyd will never fight Pac Man, Bradley, Lara, Thurman or Porter due to being scared of what they offer...I'm not hating on Floyd, it's just the way he does things, he knows no better...this goes back to the days of ducking Margarito, Paul Williams etc.

So yeah, what are your thoughts on where Floyd will go next?

Yeah agree with the first two, think Pac Man fight will only happen if Pac gets beaten badly again and yeah if Bob Arum is out of the picture...if Pac wins two big fights between now and then, I can't see Floyd risking it.

I'd like to see him face Khan, and have Marcos vs Matthysse as chief support.

I think he avoids Pac altogether now. It's never going to happen.

Other than that, Thurman and Porter aren't ready.

Floyd is already a Great and he gat to stop thinking just like a business man. I would unify the titles right away putting a clinic and winning even a close decision against Shawn Porter even with all risk involved, only take on Khan if it is a good money fight next year and Khan doesn't spoil it and finish the deal with Showtime by taking on a Devon or a Berto or a Broner on a serious comeback. Finalize with either Pacquiao at 147 or Martinez at 154 but not with both.

Berto? Are you joking? I hope you are joking!

Fight Khan, then Manny and then the next big thing @ WW and then call it a day.

What will happen, as floyd definitely has self esteem/ego issues, is he'll keep fighting and begin getting knocked out. He will challenge and then I predict take RJJ's ruined career throne in a brutal grab.

Last night showed Floyd can get beaten if he doesn't cherry pick, Maidana was a cherry pick and it nearly went wrong, you best be sure Floyd isn't going near Thurman, Porter or Pacquiao he knows their is a good chance he get's beat. He may win the fights but he won't take the risk never has and won't do so now either.

If Khan isnt available for September it will most likely be a rematch with Maidana.

realistically. he'll go on another vacation and let things cool off. maybe by the time he's back, Pacquiao has since retired from the sport. one less boogeyman for him to worry about.

Yep. It'll be 2008 all over again. And then the youg guys become names, Floyd avoids them, rinse and repeat.

"He's been undefeated for 20 years!". Yeah, and 6 of those years were 'vacations'.

I am not joking, sorry bro. Berto is a former WBC WW Champion and a good puncher, good technical fighter who found out that he had a weakness that people started exploring to the most, including Collazo, that is since he is short armed but able to unleash hurricanes in those close quarters, they pressed him up with long shots coming in and found that his chin shattered and his legs buckled... First Ortiz went all hell got loose that night and Guerrero simply abused on rough house tactics from start to finish. That is two shots at Money lost right there plus the time lost on the Hurricane in homeland and there you have the young lion that Shane and foes avoided... Berto is as qualified to fight Money as Alexander and as Broner at this point. Case closed.

He can go anywhere he wants to. Hopefully he fights Pacman or the Sergio-Cotto winner.

It was a competitive fight but it wasn't THAT close tbh.

He did have a very dumb gameplan for the first 6 rounds though, he stayed on the ropes way too much.

He shouldn't care at all about if fans think he has a boring style; he should've kept the fight in the center of the ring and go on his bicycle as needed and would've won that fight more convincingly.
