i have had enough of everybody slating hatton and getting on the ' he must fight witter ' express. witter is boring as ****, i would never give up my hard earned sheckles to watch that boring rubbish again. witter has had one decent performance of late, beating up a past his sell by harris. otherwise he made me fall asleep against corley (literally, strike had to give me a kick) lost (imo) to kotelnik, and was ****ing dreadful against lynes a domestic level / european fighter at best. must admit, i never saw the mora fight. anyway back to point, witter has done precisely **** all to deserve a huge pay day against hatton. If, and its a huge if, he looks spectacular in his next outing then maybe it might be worth thinking about. but i can say with near 100% certainty he will be boring as **** and play it safe and send us all to sleep again. witter brings nothing to the table, hatton brings it all... rant over.
But Witter is always talkin trash about hatton calling him out surely that means he deserves the shot and hatton is merely dodging?? Hatton needs to prove himself against witter for peanuts and not make really big $$$$'s gearing himself towards another fight against mayweather or another big US fight.(sarcasm heavily added)
he hasn't, but all fighters need an 'easy' one every now and again. hatton has just fought 10 very hard rounds with one of the greatest of all time, he is working his way back. i will say again, if witter impress's in his next fight i might be more interested, but we all know he wont. he aint got it in him. at least lazcano will come forward and try to fight, you can be sure of that.
So are you more interested in seeing a fight with Malignaggi next then? You say Witter needs to impress in his next fight but Paulie didnt even impress in his last fight. Many think he lost.
i never said nothin about malignaggi, he is undeserving also. hatton is allowed one to ease back in (although i expect lazcano to be tougher than that) then he must fight a biggie. if witter has performed well then yes, it has to be him. my whole argument is based on juniors last few fights, which as i have said earlier, have been boring old shite.
The two obvious ones, in order, are Witter and Pauli IMHO but I don't begrudge Hatton the Lascano fight (solid Top 10 140 lber) after the Mayweather loss.
I didn't say you couldn't reply but you gave the answer to two people that Stuey had dismissed hence my original question.
I'd question anyone who didn't have those two names at the top of the list. The big question (I think!!) is whether Hatton should be "allowed" Lascano before looking at Pauli, Witter and now appaerently a Mayweather rematch.
Witter is WBC champion and pretty much regarded by most as the number one contender to Hattons Champion status in the Jnr Welter Division. That in itself makes this fight a must. However, factor in that a feud between the two has been brewing for the best part of a decade. Factor in that Hatton has said he would fight Witter before, but only once he captured a World Title. Factor in that they are both British and that it would be a HUGE fight not only in the JNR Welter divison, but for British boxing in general. This fight must happen. If it doesn't it will go down with the likes of Bowe-Lewis, DM-RJJ as fights that should have happened between the two top fighters in a division at that time, but didn't. That would be a shame. Fans of boxing realise that and acknowledge it. If you discredit this notion, your a mug and a fan of Hatton and Hatton alone and not of boxing in my mind. EDIT: Im not specifically calling anybody in this thread a mug btw. More that you would have to be a mug in general not to recognise the current signficance of this fight...if you get me.
The market dictates whether its on PPV. As a boxing match its WAY OFF what I consider to be PPV quality, but the market obviously says otherwise....bloody drunken Man City fans...;O)
