I don't see it. I honestly do not see how Cotto is going to be crushed like a twiglet by this guy. I've seen either two responses to the question of who's gonna win; Cotto or Pacquiao, and it's been either the minority; Cotto via knockout or Pacquiao via knockout, maybe I haven't been looking hard enough but it doesn't seem people think Cotto's going to be a tough contest for him, tough enough to knock him about the ring like the lightweight he is. Cotto, to me, seems like the fighter who is testing fighters like Margarito and Clottey then backing off, and with his only loss being Margarito, I don't think Pacquiao's gonna be the guy to pressure him to run out of ideas. I admit, that Cotto's defense isn't brilliantl but his offense and his ability to come forward and find ideas is so good, that I don't think Pacquiao is going to even begin to bother thinking how to counteract. To me this fight seems like who's going to either be able to deal with the come forward fighter or who's going to respond, and I don't think Pac has anything to clean Cotto's clock, as he is a very patient fighter, and only gets hurt when he's pressurised, same for Pac, except he's also a lower weight fighter atm. He cannot take Cotto's shots for 12 rounds man, no way. Anyway, at the end of all this drunken rambling, I guess I'm just wondering why Pac is the favourite as such around these parts. I understand the whole not doubting him approach but what has Cotto done so wrong to make him an even worse guess than De La Hoya or Hatton? Drop to a weight he's not comfortable with at the stage of his career? Be TKO'd by the world's best fighter and look for a one shot KO? I don't see it, man.
Most people think Cotto has lost a step post Margarito. And Pac woud seem to have as good of power if not better power than guys who have staggered Cotto previously. Lately in boxing, speed kills has been a sure bet.
check the polls here in esb. it's more like 50/50. don't attribute the ramblings of the few and hate the masses.
its gonna be ****ing hard for Pac to knock out a beast like Cotto. But I think apart from that this fight is gonna showcase Pac's skills once again. Dryer is wrong if he thinks Cotto had no problem working his left against Judah. Alot of his jabs were being sidestepped leaving Cotto looking like a deer in headlights but Judah doesn't have what it takes to pull the trigger and take advantage.
If Pacquiao cannot make Cotto respect his power he's ****ed. There's not alot to it. He's absolutely not skilled enough to get away with cute **** alone. He may be athletic and speedy enough - if Pacquiao himself is durable enough to mix consistent scoring with consistent enough evasion, but virtually nobody his size could handle Cotto's steady body technique. People are forgetting Cotto's bag. Pacquiao is going to slow down at some point, heavy, he's way way too frenetic. Cotto will be there dead-ready when that happens. That's what Cotto does. He's been "slow."
Cotto indeed has been different post Margarito :yep. his confidence is gone, he simply just changed his style a little bit, and his uncle is no longer on his corner :hey. Pac TKO 9th :deal.
Pac thick legs pack wallop on his punches. Cotto has thin legs which may give way carrying his dead uppear body weight. Pac will KO Cotto on the 10th round.
I've read this kind of openion before in the de la Hoya and Hatton fights. When will you guys learn to respect Pac's ability and skills.
