The Foreman destruction at the hands of Ali sent him into a spiral that took a generation for him to get over ... it was not until he defeated Michael Moorer twenty years later that Foreman made it all the way back ... the Toronto disaster, the year after the Ali loss, shows how deep the cracks in George's mind had been exposed ...

In an exceptional Sports Illustrated article from back in 1984, we begin to see George's rehabilitation ... who had a clue about what as yet to come from this man ...

    A must read ...

Its funny, people always state Douglas and Holyfield ruined Tyson, Foreman was ruined by Ali and Young, thing was Tyson carried on fighting, Foreman disappeared for 20 odd years....

I'll never understand idiots saying Douglas "ruined" Tyson. Mike clearly looked better in his fights Razor Ruddock than he did against Bruno, & Peak Ruddock is a much better fighter than Frank Bruno, who was forced (rather than chose) to fight instead of box against Tyson.

This post reminds me how I was going to giffify a lot of this and use it in various signatures. However, since that plan was forgotten many months ago, they've frocked over signatures with a very small limit not worth giffifying over. :pc

Thats the first ive ever seen this and i dont know what the **** was going on in Foremans head. What was he thinking? I think he made a real ******* of himself here and the more he tried to look nonplussed, the clearer it looked he was more interested in Ali. Pushing guys and restarting fights and ****, what was he thinking?????

Tua ain't happy either, my brother.

If I'm not mistaken, this was George's way of proving he had great stamina. :-(

aaaaaahahahahahahahahahaha see Foreman doing that wierd jumping up and down dance at about 7:07 aaaaaahahahahahahaha

and what about the bizarre po-going at 0:48 aaaahahahahaha - Ali was saying he must think he's the easter bunny or something hahahahaha

that was both disturbing and bizarre - it goes far beyond wierd - more like mental hahahaha

Whenever I've been told that Foreman would have won an immediate rematch with Ali, I point them to this. He was really unstable here but as a result we got some classic material, the staredowns, Ali's taunting and the general weirdness that was going on.

Exactly, Foreman really seems to have lost his marbles after that Ali loss, and people say Tyson was never the same after the Douglas loss.

I already knew about the 5 fights exhibition, but id never seen it

That Jerry judge certainly wasnt scared of Foreman, im also surprised to see him take Foreman down so quicky :nut

(Oh ****, the MMA Brigade will be here in a bit)

I think the Douglas loss made Tyson truly "wake-up" & become extremely motivated to regain his world titles. He started using the "Willie" number system punchbag for the first time since he trained for Spinks in '88. Mike was making good progress reversing his deterioration with Giachetti by the time he met Ruddock twice. He was as supremely conditioned physically & mentally as ever, & while from a technical perspective he wasn't super elusive as he had been with Rooney, he was more frequently using crippling bodypunching & dynamite straight righthands than he did with Rooney. The problem was, Mike desperately wanted a title shot at Holy, & Don King was intent on making him wait, to prove he could make equal money with Tyson & no titles, as Holy could as undisputed champ. Tyson really wanted to leave King from before the first Ruddock fight, because he wasn't getting him a title shot, & by the time Mike realised he was never getting paid his millions for the two Ruddock wars, he was desperate to leave the serpentine moneygrabber King.

That post fight interview with Cosell at the end- there was flashes of that after his loss to Tommy Morrison.

Foreman lost his mind after fight in Zaire, and got weirder and weirder, till day he claimed
Jesus Chris and The Virgin Mary showed up in dressing room after Jimmy Young fight and asked him to retire.

Ali was being a jerk off in that clip, I saw that live, forgot a lot of what happened till seeing it now again. Purpose of whole event was for Foreman to show he had stamina to go up to 15 rounds.
