Yes... but there was a clause in the contract to say Wlad could pull out at any time so had no stipulations in place to say he had to rearrange that fight. Especially not when it is going to stop the big fight happening. Seriously... Chisora is a worse opponent than Fraudley was. Atleast Fraudley had Olympic gold and being reigning European champion behind him. As well as wins over a much better version of Danny Williams. Chisora has only beat a ghost of Danny Williams... the fight is a joke

Fraudley was almost 40, won a gold a decade ago, and had been out boxed by Sprott....Chisora is unproven but at least he's young

Agreed - when the Chisora fight was announced then the certainty that unification bout would come to be was in jeopardy.

But be real, what is the possibility that Chisora would win Wlad. This seems to be the only valid reason for Haye to drop this fight against Wlad.

Chisora fight didn´t force Haye to face Chagaev. If I understand this situation correctly Haye has to fight either his mandatory or unification bout and he must have agreement for unification bout by the end of March or April (can´t remember the exact date).

So if Wlad was willing to sign the agreement on the 2.7. fight and Chisora -fight wasn´t forcing Haye to face Chagaev, then the only reason for Haye not to take this Wlad -fight was in fact Wlad having a stay-warm tune-up with Chisora.

    Kind of lame excuse.

I pissed that this fight didn´t happen. Wlad could have make this fight too. Why didn´t he agree to toss Chisora -bout if Haye felt that a tune-up would be unfair since he can´t take one before unification fight. Haye had already agreed with all his other demands.

I blame them both. More Haye than Wlad, but they are both guilty. Most of all I blame myself for believing that I could see Haye fight a Klit brother.

    :patsch:twisted:
You don't cope too well with facts do you?
The fact Wlad has signed a fight to defend his titles means a Unification fight CAN NOT BE SIGNED because there is a possibility Wlad could lose, no matter how slim the possibility it is possible.
Which means Haye can not sign a contract for a unification fight before April when he needs to either sign a unification fight or sign to fight his mandatory... leaving him only 1 option... he has to fight his mandatory. This will then need to take place in May which is too close to July 2nd. You can't expect Haye to have a standard 11 week training camp for Chagaev, fight, then jump straight back into training for an even bigger fight with only a 7 week training camp, which in that time also has to include promotional work and really your body needs a rest period between fights... The whole situation is a million miles away from being ideal... all because of a title defence against a no mark that shouldn't be anywhere near a ring with a world champion

Why is Shaunster a bell end? because he uses facts and objectivity in his posts... maybe you should try the same because right now it's you that looks like the bell end.

And you know this to be a fact? I can´t remember Haye or Booth or WBA officials or any where in the media saying this. If you have some source, I´d be grateful to read it myself.

come off it, that guy contributes nothing to the forum. He has nothing of value to say about anything - he logs on, says that whatever his idol is doing is right, abuses his idols opponents and logs off.

    Jesus christ you are clueless.

For Wld and Haye to sign a unification fight it has to be agreed and sanctioned by the sanctioning bodies. The WBA will not saction the fight as it is not 100% guarenteed the fight will in fact be a unification so will not sanction it... new to boxing are you?

Are you telling me that the only way the WBA will sanction title fights is they have to be arranged 180 days in advance?

    What's wrong with this:

In the event Wlad loses in April, there's not a single heavyweight that wouldn't take a title fight with Haye on two months' notice regarding mandatory status. Sam Peter just did the same thing last year with the IBF as a matter of fact. Povetkin pulled out on July 23rd, Peter was brought in, and the fight occurred on September 11th. That's seven weeks, a shorter timeframe than April 30th to July 2nd.

And again, Chagaev is probably not going to be allowed to fight Haye in Britain anyway, and Haye's not going to fight him outside of Britain, so what's that do to the WBA mandatory defense?

    Voluntary OR Unification, actually.

You know what's funny? When Haye chose Valuev over Vitali you guys called him a chicken, ducker, etc etc. Yet when Wlad chooses Chisora over Haye it's a case of "Haye got pwn3d".

    Could you be anymore hypocritical?

No, this is more schadenfreude.

Wlad didn't choose Chisora over Haye. He chose Chisora AND Haye.

How can any person that is a boxing fan think that 1 title defense > 2 title defenses (and the guy receiving the lone defense is part of the two)?

For f*ck's sake, am I speaking Chinese?

Either way, the WBA is covered there. Now if you're going to tell me that the WBA and David Haye won't go for that, than that right there demonstrates whey boxing is such a f*cked up sport, because only in this sport is a champion fighting more often looked upon as bad.

You're not following this are you?

The WBA gave no extension and Haye has to have a contract signed by April 3rd to face his mandatory or unification. With Wlad signed to face Chisora April 30th he couldn't face Wlad.

    Up to speed now?
