Maidana did a lot of things which helped him in the fight.

    i. He used a good jab which prevented floyd from following up after landing those crisp right hands. There were times when floyd would get a combination going but maidana would jab and disrupt floyd. I was surprise he was able to land so many jabs. His jab was key in closing the distance.

ii. He dipped down low and move his head enough that mayweather was unable to hit as he was coming.

iii. His physical strength allowed him to maneuver floyd into the ropes and keep him there.

iv. The angle in which he trows his over hand right allowed him to hit even when floyd used his shoulder row.

    v. his activity allowed him to prevent floyd from starting his own offense specially in the first 5 rounds.

with all due respect that is an incredibly dumb think to say. Floyd is too SMART to fight the kind of fight that would endanger his health and chances of winning. Do you actually expect floyd to say, "maidana was cutting of the ring and was strong enough to maneuver me into the ropes"

Floyd looked both bigger and way more muscolar.

There are morons trying to pretend Maidana weighted 168 lbs. :patsch

If that's true, then Floyd was atleast 170 lbs. :deal

Exposed by a slow, low skills brawler.

Easy to understand why he wants no part of skilled fast fighters like Bradley or Pacman or Martinez. :thumbsup

Miadana fought the fight he wanted. Marcos was relentless and increased his activity level to ensure he controlled the pace of the fight and he controlled distance.

Floyd likes to fight at a much more conservative pace....and at a distance he controls behind the jab and straight right. He couldn't do that against Marcos becuase of the work rate and pressure he consistantly applied throughout the 12 rounds.

Floyd usually is able to take away an opponents strengths.....make them fight at his pace and at his distance. With the style Marcos employed Floyd wasn't able to dictate the key elements of his fight.

Styles make fights.....Marcos changed his style just enough to give Floyd his hardest fight. It helped Marcos was 17 pounds heavier too!

This. 15lbs is 15lbs. Maidana has always been a 'strong as an ox' type fighter.

    Yep I agree with this.

Maidana's work rate and sheer physicality allowed him to be very competitive in the first 2/3 of the fight, though it did cost him in the last 4 rounds where he clearly tired badly and was getting pushed back my Mayweather.

Great performance by Maidana really went for it and didn't leave anything back. But Mayweather just too good over the full 12 rounds.
