madona's workrate isnt even half of pac's considering footspeed, combos and stamina. this is what people dont realize. pedjr doesnt trade bec he is hardwired to protect his chin. when you rush him, goes into defensive shell and look for the ropes. pac will outwork him every minute of every rounds for 12 rounds, non stop. featherfisted will never beat pac, not now, not ever.:deal
Style wise he was the same fighter but he was throwing 100 punches a round some times and those are rounds he won convincingly. Marcos never throws that many punches....he increases his level of activity to increase his chances against Floyd and it worked. It was wild.....but he had a game plan that He and Garcia worked on and implemented. It wasn't to fight at a controlled and manageable distance....it was to throw bombs, work the body and keep the pressure on. That isn't typically Miadana's style. He stepped his game up and made adjustments prior to the fight so that he was prepared by May 3 rd.
Haha It's actually quite a good indication, Better than comparing it the other way?. It has a lot to do with it.
I think Chino fought a heck of a fight. However, once Mayweather realized he could not just sit back and counter the fight changed. I think Mayweather would approach the rematch differently. I think Mayweather felt he could sharp shoot off the ropes in between Chino's punches. In the rematch, I think he keeps it in the middle of the ring and works of the jab, gives lateral movement and keeps Chino turning. If he mixes in the straight right and some body work it will be an easier night. Mayweather is playing everybody for another easy 30 mil. Does anyone honestly feel Mayweather would grant a rematch if he hadn't figured Chino out ?
This was similar too Cotto fight. Highly COMPETITIVE but not really that CLOSE. Maidana won rds 1,2,4 & maybe 12 as a stretch. He made it ugly at times, but Floyd was tagging him with ease. Most of Maidanas work on the ropes, we're ineffective. But all in all, he came to fight, gave his best but clearly lost.
Nothing was easy for Floyd last night. Floyd fought Marcos's fight. People talk about how Marcos missed a lot. Of course he missed a lot! Floyd is a defensive wizard and an all time great.....for Marcos it was a numbers game. He rolls those dice and he kept a steady pace that Floyd struggled with. Floyd found success......In spots, but to claim it wasn't close is desperate. Of course it was close.......Floyd don't do rematches unless he felt he lost or he wants to clear the air on a controversial outcome which has always fell in his favor. Which is really only 2 times in his long career.
The reason he did well was Robert Garcia telling him to not give him the space to do his best work. That is the key to beating mayweather but it will take a GREAT inside fighter to pull it off,Maidana is a good inside fighter. You get up close to floyd and don't give him the space to work and set the tempo he looks beatable.
