The only claim for greatness Wlad has been getting is longevity against weak opposition and defeats of only 5 world champs in over 58 fights.

It wasn't. Its a sorry state of affairs when the champ is Sultan Ibragimov.

I don't think the heavyweight division is the shallowest its ever been. I'd say the period in between Tunney and Louis(and most of Louis's era) was pretty weak when guys like Braddock and Carnera were heavyweight champions was worse. The early-mid 20's when Dempsey didn't defend his title for 3 years and guys like Carpentier and Firpo were top contenders. The late 70's-early 80's when a lot of the top guys from earlier in the 70's were clearly on the decline, Leon Spinks was heavyweight champ, and Holmes was defending against some weak competiton are all probably worse than now.

There are other periods in heavyweight history that have been shallow. I'd say this current era is average to above average in total talent and maybe below average when it comes to making good fights between them. The heavyweight division, outside of parts of the 70's and 90's, is usually one of the weaker divisions in boxing.

I have no agenda regarding Lewis who is a great fighter, but the people like yourself who blatently has a Lewis testicle draining agenda whilst Klitschko hating, are beginning to ruin a ****ing good forum.

Doesn't matter really, wlad is a great champion regardless of what a few internet posters think.

Ironic statement, given the fact that in reality, NOBODY regards Wlad as a great fighter. His so-called "greatness" is only proclaimed by a handful of neckbearded basement dwelling trolls that prominate on boxing message boards... and Germans who also honestly & sincerely believe that Sven Ottke was a great fighter.

Wlad is more or less the p4p equivalent of Zab Judah.

 I don't remember seeing him before. That's what avatarlessness does to me.

If you genuinely don't see how you're coming off in playing down those two and their careers, I certainly can't help you anymore. It's painfully obvious in this post and your others, here. But, Volo never takes **** from me about his opposition being poor. I've always given him credit for beating good fighters, and I've always said Byrd, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Haye and Chambers were very good fighters and Thompson, McCline, Brock, Peter, Schulz, Botha, etc, were good fighters as well.

But, when you've had as many victories over well known titlists and contenders as Holmes, including a victory over a then-future HOFer, which I don't believe Volo's list includes, and someone is saying you never really beat anyone, you have to assume that someone simply doesn't know what they're talking about or is being intentionally obtuse about the subject matter as a detractor.
