First and foremost, Vitali has a stronger claim to the HW title than Wlad does. So this "stand-out number one" business you're talking about is nothing more than a pipe dream. I'm sure there is a considerable percentage of posters in this forum who think Vitali is as good or *better* than Wlad. Hell, look at Vitali's losses then look and Wlad's - then tell me who looks better...
LOL... Ibragimov and Byrd aren't going to make it on anyone's ATG list [besides those of Klitschko nut huggers]. LOL. You just pnwed yourself, Genius. The "old bum version" of Larry Holmes that Tyson beat would go on to BEAT a P R I M E version of Ray Mercer. Wlad would then go on to beat an "old bum version" of Ray Mercer - making a career out of fighting "old bums"... Tyson >>> Wlad :hi:
The Klit lickers can't win the debate on facts so they resort to ad hominem attacks. They are a sad lot...
If Wlad remains the champ by next July he'll become the second longest reigning heavyweight champion in boxing measured by the individual's longest reign, behind Louis only. At the moment he's fifth and set to surpass Sullivan, Dempsey and Holmes in the coming months. He also comes 3rd in terms of consecutive title defenses at the moment. I have him 8-11 on my ATG list depending oh how you shuffle the criteria with a potential for further progress.
So the yardstick to mesure greatness is based on how long you can remain beating nobody's? In almost 7 years he has only fought 2 world champions.
He beat all available competition. Ducked no one. That's what the champ does. And how exactly do establish them being 'nobody's' i wonder? Based on your wishful thinking only?
Wlad has been fighting the best in the division in the last couple of years. who should he have fought a couple of years ago. now there are up and coming contenders and hopefully he will fight them in the next couple of years. There just hasn't been any competition at the level of Wladamir, its not Wlads fault. I rank Wlad as ATG, in top 15-10, if he fights the best in the division in next couple of years. Price, Fury, Wilder, Mitchel, and other top 10, and becomes second longest reigning champ, ill put Wlad at number 10. if Wlad becomes longest reigning champ ever surpassing Joe Louis, ill put him down at 9. I would put him lower if he had a defining fight, fought another ATG. YEP WLADS DUCKED NOONE, right now everyone is avoiding Wlad, no doubt about it [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_reigning_heavyweight_champions[/ame] Name Title Reign Title Recognition Successful Defenses 1.
