Pac has been tagged as an accumulation knock out artist here on ESB, but his last 2 fights have been something of a revelation. Usually when guys come up in weight they lose a bit of their bang, but pac seems to have completely carried over his power in every division he's fought in. This guy laid out hatton like pancake batter with a single punch, and almost parted cotto from his senses again with a single punch.

Is it safe to say that the "accumulation puncher" tag is unfair?

Pacquaio was cooking down to those weights, never had the opportunity to build the right muscle. Coming up in weight has made him far more complete in speed and power, why are you surprised? Look at how slim his muscle mass still is.

Compare that to Mayweather, who at 130-135 looked like Pacquaio, at 147, looks bulky.

I'm pretty sure that the tag is still fair since of his past four fights only one has ended by one punch KO, and that was Hatton, who already had his chin cracked by Floyd, not exactly a power puncher.

Manny hits guys with sharp, fast punches that they don't see coming. That puts them down, but generally not out because his power is not concussive. It took him 9 rounds of beating to put Diaz away. It took 8 rounds of beating to make DLH quit, and DLH was never seriously wobbled, he was just plain getting pummelled and had no chance to turn it around. It took nearly 12 rounds of beating on Cotto to get a stoppage. Sure, he put Cotto down twice, but they were both punches that Cotto didn't see coming and that landed on the chin. Cotto got up from both and while he seemed mentally beaten after the second the physical damage was not so bad.

He's the very definition of an accumulation puncher, based on his last fights.

I have to agree with this.
