I used to have a pretty descent hook until I separated my shoulder months ago.

The shoulder is about 90% healed, but now that I'm training again I have found that my hook is missing in action.

Its weird rebuilding the muscle memory. My mind says "do this" to my body, and my body gives a good effort but doesn't quite pull it off.

Guess its going to take a while to get it back?

Anyone else had to do this after an injury?

Keep up some solid shoulder rehab and prehab work even when it feels good, its money in the bank.

Habits embedded through years are tough to break, but not impossible.

pay very close attention to the mechanics of ur hook.

are u winging ur hook? wide hooks put a lot of pressure on the shoulder. my recommendation...try to make them as short as possible. also...do not load up so much.

Yes, you are right on the money.

Right now I've got the turn/pivot going well but my arm is wide and it puts pressure on the shoulder.

I've been practicing them, slowly, relearning the form and trying to shorten the punch.

They get progressively worse as the shoulder fatigues so I have to space it out.

Gets a little better each week. :thumbsup

You have damaged the neural pathways, they have had a big Shock. Gently does it, as regards rehab.
