That he stands no match for Jones ... he has had hand injuries throughout his career and has pulled out of fights because of it.

It took a year before he stepped into the ring w/ Lacy ...

He turned down a fight w/ Glenn Johnson because of his hands ... yet he ended up taking a fight w/ the lesser known Sakio Bika ...

He hurt his hands against a junior middleweight Evans Ashira ...

Overall ... he has no chance to beat Jones and delaying the fight only proves that he's not ready ...

But that didn't stop him from winning every fight he's had as a pro. Now I'm not saying he ever fought someone with Jones' talent, but Jones is clearly not what he use to be.

So... its confirmed if Joe wins, its a valid win and he's not fighting a bum?

I love the JC WUMing that goes down on ESB.

Yeah ... if Calzaghe wins ... the win is valid ...

But Jones is the best fighter that Calzaghe will face to date ... and he's far more schooled and skilled than Calzaghe ...

calzaghe just got schooled by the best guy he's ever fought he was just 43. jones is much further past his best than hopkins. calzaghe wins this one easily.

No way, this fight doesn't prove anything on who would have won in their primes. And we all know who the winner of that contest is. :deal

Can we really judge RJJs pime accurately given his drug use?

It's also fair to say he fought a lot of "easier" fights too. Drugs or no drugs....Prime for Prime would be one great fight, RJJ prob has too much and a late KO may have happened.

I don't get it ... Jones is still Jones and they're not that far apart in age ... and they both have been in the game for a very long time ... this isn't a 28yr old guy fighting a 39yr old guy ... they're both in their mid to late 30's and both have spent 15 yrs minimum in the fight game ... both have over 20 championship fights ...

    age doesn't matter ...

If he beats Jones ... he beats Jones ...

But he won't beat Jones ...

I'm not sure he was schooled... out hustled and cheated possibly. No one can deny Calzaghe won that fight. I thought it was closer live, then on a second viewing. The next time I watched it, I saw Hopkins not contribute from the half way point and his counter right had all but dissappeared.

I don't even understand this. It is a level of the purest bull**** that my brain cannot yet comprehend.

Jones tested positive for anabolic steroids. He admitted it to the Indiana boxing commission. I think it was in 96...

It proves that age has nothing to do with anything at this point in their careers ... neither fighter is at the peak of their careers.

Another 1 of Fitz's ******ed threads...This is more about econmics than anyone ducking or holding out. Notice all the bitchin bout PPV dates all together and all the dates have been moved. SSM-Mayorga now moved 2 HBO in Sept, now RJJ-Calz will be moved possibly to early 09 because B-Hop-Pav will be on PPV in Oct. This is all about economics DORK
