    Recently there was a thread on this one. My laptop was messing up and i couldnt get a proper post and opinion in and i wanted to, but its came back from repair now. People were taking Cotto, but i think i recall most of the more well known (to me i mean, no disrespect) posters picking Tito.

    Really a no-brainer to anyone who knows much about boxing, and the two fighters in question, really.

    Here's mine-

    If Cotto chooses to box;

    He can box, but he gets caught too much in that mode, nowhere near efficient/prolific enough a BOXER to get this job done. The outcome is that he is timed and finished by the best finisher (definitely one of, maybe behind SRR) the welterweight division has ever seen.

    If Cotto fights;

    Now if Cotto does what i think he does very very well (possibly in a great fashion), which is applying that educated pressure, and utilizing his great strength, the outcome is a foregone conclusion, Trinidad by stoppage no doubt.

    Just my opinion, but really, almost not debatable imo.

    Tito is too big and talented for Cotto really. I DO THINK Cotto would drop Tito at one point or another but that's mainly because Tito had a habit early on of being unbalanced and getting popped with unnecessary shots.

    Anyone who knows Cotto's weaknesses knows a straight right hand and an uppercut and Tito's right is a very underrated weapon of his IMO. Once he's got Cotto stunned it'd be hook city until the KO.

    I think Hook city, Titoville, is one of them areas that when you drive in, you just cant get out!!

    I can't see the fight going more than about 6 rounds no matter what Cotto does, short of doing a Lou Bizarro.

    Pretty much. Hook City is the Silent Hill of boxing :lol:

    In honesty Cotto is a man without a division. His power is much better at 140 but his conditioning suffers for it..not to mention his punch resistance. He's too small at 147 and with bigger fighters like Williams and Margarito on the scope, there's not much he can do to compete with those guys unless they're a lot worse than I think they are.

    He'd beat Margarito if he had the chin, stamina and balls to do so. He swept the first 5 rounds against Tony, then Tony took over because of better stamina.

    1 thing that fight proved is neither stood a chance against Mayweather, if Cotto takes the first 5rounds off Tony, Marg can't take 1 off FMJ. Cotto can't outbox PBF and he'd get ko'd brawling with him
