We have Manny's comments on Marciano begin not fit for competing against today's heavies. I know that Holy claimed Joe Louis wouldn't hang with him for more than a few rounds. Any more such comments either positive or negative by legit trainers or experienced pros?

Wlad Klitschko said that he doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as Ali, Marciano, and Louis

Joshua ranks Tyson, Ali, Lewis and Holyfield as the benchmark of greatness he wants to achieve

Mayweather, obviously, thinks he's the p4p goat.

Wilder stated that he'd beat any heavyweight champion before him, including Tyson, Ali, and Louis. He also called Tyson's resume poor (which is actually true but also hypocrisy)

Tyson Fury stated that Mike Tyson would knock him out in 1 round

Sources can be provided for all statements if asked

Btw would love to see the comment Manny made, as far as I know Pac actually took some training aspects from Marciano's routine and added it to his own. That's the extent of their link, as far as I've seen

Oh you meant Emanuel Steward, my bad ig

That was always a weird comment. I've never seen someone use over achiever in a derogatory way.

Not to mention he was wrong about getting knocked down alot, he was knocked down 2 times through his entire career, amateur and pro...

I wonder what he thinks the bare minimum size is

I agree with Manny's comments for the most part. I don't think he meant anything disrespectful about Marciano. No fighter every did more with less physical attributes at heavyweight than Rocky did. The guy always found a way to win.

With that said, I can't see him beating the guys in Manny's top five.

I remember something saying that Cus tomato once told them that Larry Holmes style was made for Tyson and he was always confident that he would have beaten Holmes even at his best. Not sure who but it might have been Tyson old trainer,Kevin Rooney who said that.

Ray Arcel's views on Jack Dempsey in comparison to future heavyweights. Arcel lived until 1994.

“Dempsey would have absolutely beaten any fighter who came after him – without a doubt. I know all about Joe Louis and how he knocked guys’ teeth out. I have every respect for Joe – I rate him number two. But Dempsey would have killed Louis, George Foreman, any of those guys. What Jack had was God-given – you can’t develop the kind of talent he had.

“Marciano? Same result. Dempsey would have murdered Rocky. I tell you, Jack would have chased everyone out of the ring. I trained Max Baer a couple of times and often got asked how good that booming right of his was and whether it was as good as anything Dempsey had. Are you kidding? It wasn’t even close.

“Mike Tyson might have got through a round with Dempsey, maybe two. People always asked me what Jack’s weaknesses were. That’s the point – he didn’t have any.”

Arcel was surely one of the cleverest boxing men, but I cant help feel there is some childhood nostalgia in his statements.

I assume "Cus tomato" was an autocorrect error. Hilarious. If it was intentional, still hilarious.

Yeah, with claims that bold one can't help but be highly suspicious. Funny how extravagant hyperbole usually has the exact opposite of the intended rhetorical effect.

Whoever said it I disagree. I think prime Holmes has a better than 50-50 chance of beating Tyson. (I'd say maybe 60-70-%)
