Alright, these five welters have all had a rough time recently, head to head, who's the best, who's the worst, who has the best and worst future: 1. Adrian Broner 2. Robert Guerrero 3. Frankie Gavin 4. Chris Algeri 5. Andre Berto 6. Anthony Peterson 7. Devon Alexander 8. Paulie Malinaggi OK, the general consensus is going to put Algeri at the top and Gavin or Broner at the bottom, (I know you Fuhls, I study you every day.) But I think the future plays out like this: 1. Peterson (not a great fighter but has one ace card - speed) 2. Broner (don't hate, he's only 25) 3. Algeri (good athlete, like Broner, not really a boxer, but older) 4. Gavin (Don't laugh, can't break an egg, should be 140, but clever boxer) 5. Alexander (was never to impressed by Devin. He cant fight coming forward, or going backward, only in ring center) 6. Guerrero (has already beaten Berto and edges out Paulie with power) 7. Berto (his legs have been gone for years, but he's always ready to fight) 8. Malinaggi (it's a hard road for a guy in his mid 30s going 12 in every fight. He should have stayed retired.
Algieri dominates them all... 6' 160-162 pounds of late blooming talent. All of the rest you listed should retire excluding Alexander.
Broner, Algeri and LAMONT Peterson are all still solid A level types. The rest are B levels who got a sniff. Peterson is coming off his best win, a huge robbery loss to Garcia. Algeri has made some necessary changes to his style and if he continues to evolve the way he has, I could see him winning some huge fights, mixing b his footwork and his new boxer puncher style. Could end up being as good as prime PWilly. Broner......he's gotta humble himself and fix his mistakes in the gym and his poor health choices.
Alexander's limied; you run from him for 12 rounds like Khan, you beat him, you put his back to the ropes and go to his body for 12 rounds, you beat him too. All he's good at is setting his feet in the middle of the ring and countering.
1. Algieri easily the best. OP must've not watched Algieri/Taylor and compared it to Broner/Taylor when he put Algieri under Broner. :verysad 2. Peterson 3. Alexander 4. Malignaggi 5. Berto 6. Gavin 7. Broner 8. Guerrero
Only one problem with Algeri. 31 and he's never beaten a contender. Got embarrassed by the best guy he fought, and he was past his prime.
He won 8 rds off prime Provodnikov, a champion. And he also won 5 off Khan.....a borderline elite. Yes....PAC outclassed him. But that was pi$$poor preparation and even worse coaching. If Algeri choose to fight on.....Well see him win another title at some point.
