    Hi,
I started seriously watching boxing about a year ago and as I am reading posts about purse bids with kid chocolate I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

So can someone please explain the process of making a fight happen from start to finish. Does every professional fight have a purse bid? do only championship fights get purse bids? what is a purse bid?

If you're new to boxing then stay away from Floyd and Klitschko fans they're both delusional.

What made you a serious fan? Was it a certain fight you watch? or was it the training or a certain fighter? just curious

I don't really care about all that, I just watch boxing, been a huge fan for as long as I can remember. Don't really talk about little details like that much.

Welcome to boxing, explaining how a boxing fight is made would be a super long post. Because boxing does not have one commission (like ufc), it is alot more complex. Just do a little research. Some key things is

    -networks bidding on a fight
    -promoters deciding pay outs
    -dates
    -belts on line

Then of course depending on location or request you also have drug testing etc. This is just a brief overview and there is a lot more to it.

You must start watching some Joe Calzaghe fights. That's true boxing greatness.

Get out now and go watch some other sport. Once you fall in love with the sweet science you find out just how stupid this dick riding gay ass internet generation can be.

Nothing but dick riding this guy, hating on that guy. Zero integrity about it, they hate this guy because he's seen as a threat to the guy they dick ride. They like this guy cause he also dick rides the guy they dick ride.

And lets say one guys switches his stance, E.g how Floyd fans loved Golden Boy until Shaefer left and it was rumored that Floyd would leave with shaefer... All of a sudden Oscar is a corrupt this and that shaefer did all the work, Oscar sucks, he's a picture of Oscar in drag, yada yada yada...

It's a ****ing pathetic group of people you have to associate with if you find yourself stuck loving boxing... It's miserable

Champions in a purse bid are entitled to some percentage of whatever the highest bid is. Usually it's 75%, sometimes it's 60%, sometimes 85% depending on name value and finances of the titlist and challenger...

Anyone has the right to make a blind bid on the fight. If you win it, then you get to promote it...

That is why old man Don King is known as the devil for winning many purse bids over the years for fighters he doesn't even promote and then the fight ends up getting cancelled after a month when nobody has received any money. Then they do another purse bid. That is what the failure of Don King is known for nowadays and pretty much the only time he ever finds himself in the boxing world news...

The purse bid split is what made the Wladimir vs. Povetkin fight so appealing for both. Povetkin had balked at that particular fight for something like 4 whole years. And then, Russian billionaire throws up 25 M dollars in a purse bid. Wladimir made 17 and Povetkin 8 if I remember correctly. Either way, it was a large "over bid" for the fight, so of course both fighters would accept it and thus we finally got to see Povetkin in with a Klitschko...

That is why Quillin balking at the Korobov fight is so awkward. Jay Z's promotional company Roc Nation won an "over bid" of 1.9 M for the fight. Quillin was entitled to 1.4 M. There is no way Quillin will make that much money for fighting pretty much anyone, so his decision to give away his title and not take the career high payday is borderline stunning. In my opinion, the only way he doesn't look like complete trash for all of this is if he literally fights a better top 10 MW or moves up to SMW immediately.

All of this information is inaccurate.

A purse bid refers to auctions that are held after Adrian Broner has punched a new female in the face and stolen their purse. Nobody bidding is allowed to view the contents of the purse but if you're lucky it may contain useful information for stalking, used panties, fancy makeuo, or even a dildo. That's why Quillin was so happy, as Champion he's entitled to any se.x paraphernalia so he took the magic stick and was satisfied with just that, no need for a title anymore he has a new toy.
