Recently became a boxing fan, need help.

Not just those fans, every fighter that had fanboys you need to steer very clear of those "fans". Poison they are.

One more thing you'll notice very quickly, boxing has far far more haters of boxers than true fans of the sport and true fans of certain boxers. Quick rule of thumb,

Purse bids come if the promoter (s) are unable to agree to terms with champions and their mando challengers. They are given x amount of time to finalize the match, if they pass that timeframe without agreeing to terms the purse bid is scheduled. Any and all licensed promoters are allowed make bids.

The winning bid is now the promoter for said match

Champ gets 75%
Challenger gets 25%.

The winning bid does not mean that fighters are promoted by the Winning bidder , just for that fight.
