Smell it, sip it, savour it. Once you get past the burn your pallet adjusts and you can really enjoy it. I mean really, really enjoy it.
My expertise stops at whiskey and steak in afraid lol. Last time I touched red wine I was 14 years old and necked a bottle. Never touched a drop since.
Totally kidding actually, I don't drink wine. This scotch is good, but maybe just a little sugar. Be right back!
I much prefer the Irish version, Redbreast is, by far, the nicest whiskey ever produced. My favourite whisky, is probably Macallan Gold, but it doesn't compare to proper whiskey.
Well all the best Scotch IS from Scotland. Last few years though, there's been an absolute explosion in the east. Taiwan, of all places, are leading that market and the Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is just about the best whisky that isn't Scottish that i've had. 200 bucks now though. Not knowing anything about scotch, I would recommend the 15 round fight between Ike Williams and Enrique Bolanos.
Oh, I'd spend that on a special bottle, sure. Special occasion stuff. What about Lagavulin? That any good?
Lagavulin is dangerous stuff. You have to be pretty sure you like it. Load going on in that dram, it's a big dram, but you'd get the 16 for a good sight less than 200 and if you like that type of whisky (heavy, sherry, smoky) it's a beaut, for sure.
Lagavulin is an Islay distillery. They produce lovely smoky whiskeys. If you like that, try Laphroaig single malt 10 or 18 year. I have it neat but you can add a few drops of distilled water.
