On a bit of a fight-watching tear lately, and am looking for some input for a catalog of things to keep me busy for a few days. Which hidden gems have you seen I should be aware of?

    Thanks in advance.

Any more information of what You're looking for?
Any specific era, division-range and level of competition (Like championship level fights or some obscure, lower level scraps also?)

Marlon Tapales vs Pungluang Sor Singyu: not quite as obscure as possible, as it was a championship fight and quite recent (2016), but these two fought a horrid fight with both down multiple times. It's awesome. Defo one I need to revisit myself, actually.

Efetobor Apochi vs Brandon Glanton: this was a brilliant war at cruiser. Usually I'd scoff at higher weight stuff too, but this isn't the run of the mill, hold and hug contest. These two threw bombs none stop all night and it was probably deserving of FOTY last year.

Alfredo Marcano vs Hiroshi Kobayashi: probably not too obscure to us, as Scar, Rough and perhaps yourself have already scored it on the scoring thread. But it's a great fight, so if you haven't seen it, definitely change that. Very clean punching and lots of momentum shifts.

Bernard Hopkins vs Gilberto Baptist: I stand by my proclamation that young Hopkins was a very exciting fighter. Big, strong, fast and a monster workrate. Him and Baptist fought a really good fight shortly after B-Hop lost to Jones.

Danny Lopez vs Shig Fukuyama: Can't go wrong with Danny Lopez, right?

Alberto Davila vs Kiko Bejines: maybe not as a war, but it was a very fun and competitive battle with Davilla showing some really nice boxing and I love seeing his style in full flow. In fact, it seems his biggest fights are against guys good enough to not allow him to maintain that rhythm, but when he did get into it, he's got one of my favourite styles.

Great stuff George, thanks! I've seen the Marcano fight and the Lopez one but will definitely see that first one.

Trying to decide about watching Davila-Bejines, honestly, knowing what Bejines' fate was.

Ha, ok - let me try.
I re-watched two fights between Jose Luis Castillo and Stevie Johnston lately. I think They are extremaly underrated and showcase some of the best infighting You'll see.
There are two other underrated title fights that I always recommend
    Victor Rabanales vs Greg Richardson
    Reggie Johnson vs Steve Collins.

Now as for a bit more obscure action that I can almost guarantee won't disappoint:
2000-02-19 Wayne Alexander - Paul Samuels
    2001-01-02 Neil Simpson - Hastings Rasani I
2001-03-30 Kongthawat Sor Kitti - Muhammad Alfaridzi
2003-07-25 David Walker - Spencer Fearon
2003-08-01 Manuel Gomez - Jeffrey Hill

Actually, I suppose another way of going about things would be to recommend fighters rather than fights, because then you get that great feeling of discovery. So here's some obscure guys who's fights are usually always good value, and **** it, I'll throw my favourite fight in there too:

    Victor Rabanales: Wayne McCullough
Young Kyun Park: Tae Shik Jun
    Akira Yaegashi: Pornsawan Porpramook
    Naoto Takahashi: Mark Horikoshi
    Rocky Kelly: Kostas Petrou
    Chan Young Park: Takuya Muguruma

Will add more as they come to my mind.

Excellent! Oddly, I put Rabanales-Richardson on my own "let me do that this week" list. That and Castillo-Johnson, nice shouts all around.

Tapales vs Singyu is a great little fight. There's quite a few lower weight class fights over the last ten years that are excellent. Pretty much everyone outside of Inoue and Donaire get ignored.

Well, I actually got the wrong name for the Davilla fight. I meant Enrique Sanchez.

Richardson was in good fights with Moon and Tatsuyoshi too. Not that it was hard with those two, every fight was brilliant if it involved either of them.

Oh! Yeah, I've seen the Sanchez fight, the "Holy Water" one. Very heady display from Davila, turning him into the wind and rain so he could land pucnhes on his distracted opponent. Brilliant.

Weirdly, I've only ever seen one fight from Perez and I can't for the life of me remember who it was against. Although interestingly, I think his style would be really problematic for Nonito Donaire.

That's the one. Masterful fighter at his peak, and clearly extremely ingenuitive.

I've seen a couple, and it was after he started drinking. Genaro Hernandez and the Vasquez one. He deserves a more thorough look of course, because he was really good for a short while.
