No worries. I'm in the minority on the classic forum but I think the sport is in a good place from a talent perspective just not from a popularity standpoint.

When all is said and done, guys like Uysk, Crawford, Alvarez, Spence etc will be discussed on the classic forum and remembered fondly in 20 years or so.

Regarding older fights, I rewatched Leon Spinks vs Eddie Lopez fairly recently and that fight simply does not disappoint.

Your attitude is more constructive than mine.

I've been meaning to get to Spinks-Lopez, now that you mention it.

Spinks Vs Lopez is a fantastic fight. You won't be disappointed. Both guys were as tough as they come.

I loved Spinks-Burnett, so figured it was a good bet. I actually thought Spinks edged Burnett with a late rally though I know I'm in the minority.

I'm very curious who you think should have won Spinks vs Lopez. I won't tell you what I think until I hear back from you. If you liked Spinks vs Burnett, you will love Spinks vs Lopez!

Sal, I'm a bit disappointed. I was going to recommend a couple of Florentino Fernandez fights for you. One is his fight with Jose Gonzalez, which I checked and is still out there. But disappointingly, the second fight I would highly recommend was his fight with Rory Calhoun, but for some reason, that appears to have been taken down. A bummer, as it was a good one. However, in its place I would recommend the bout between Alfonso Zamora and Eddie 'Motorboat' Logan. I did check and it's there.

Nana Konandu vs Sung Kil Moon I-II

Both very fun. Moon would be a billionaire today.

There was a group of fighters (light weights/super lights) in the early-mid 80's
All were contenders about equal in ability that fought their hearts out .
Fighters like Robin Blake, Harry Arroyo , Tony Baltazar, Jimmy Paul, Freddie Pendelton
Greg Haugen, Terrence Alli, Howard Davis Jr. (Davis Jr, had a real good fight against Baltazar,
the ultimate pure boxer against pure slugger type fight)
Boza-Edwards, Bobby Chacon , Andy Ganigan, and a few others from the era.
Not the most talented boxers in history, but a good group of very solid top ten contenders
that put it on the line against each other.
Fighters not afraid to risk their rankings , something rarely seen today, or the last
    20 yrs.

Seen pretty much everything the 80's lightweights offered, what a great time for the 135-pounders.

If you haven't, check out Gato Gonzalez-Andy Ganigan. Interesting slugfest.
