Marvin Johnson against Emebe, or the first Leslie Stewart fight. To go with the plethora of Marvin's fights already mentioned, that is.
I don’t think this one has been mentioned explicitly: Victor Galindez v Ritchie Kates 1 in 1976 - unbelievable fight.
All my picks have been noted, but felt compelled to echo any Saad fights any Marvin Johnson fight, and any Michael Spinks bout. Also give Galindez a look, as he sort of harkened the beginning of that amazing LHW era.
Czyz v Williams. Great fight ! Prince boxes brilliantly smashing in uppercuts and right hands like Billy oh ! .
IF you want to watch Randolph Turpin's BEST Ever fight, watch him Box Lovely to beat Don C ockell for the British L-HW Title... I am not a big Turpin fan, but he displayed some fine technical sound boxing that night. Mills vs Lesnevich are good battles too, Gus was a Good & Tough Basic Hard Hitting Boxer too.
LHW is a hipster division for secret size queens and suffers all the faults that the heaviest classes do and that is not being below middleweight.
LHW's are the "small" big men. Lots of very talented fighters have came from that division. Pound for pound, they tend to be more skilled than heavyweights in general.
