Jefferies was a color line guy, albeit a pretty good one who fought a couple of good black fighters in Jackson (who nonetheless had tuberculosis), Hank Griffin, and eventually Johnson (though he lost miserably) on top of CorbettX2, FitzimmonsX2, Ruhlin, Chonyski(who he drew against), Tom Sharkey... Still, it is a blight that he did not DEFENED against black fighters. Two good fighters who will have legacies, but neither were properly undisputed (since Jefferies fought in the era of the colored champ). I think the main difference is that Wilder ran from Joshua whereas Jefferies declined to defend against Johnson. I go with AJ.
