Hi all, basically i want recommendations for products out there (u.k. if possible) that promote recovery. I understand that diet and good nutrition is the way to go and this isnt a debate about which is better. There is so much conflicting advice out there the only way like training is to experiment myself for a while and if i see good results i will carry on if not i will save my cash.

But i would still like to hear peoples recommendations.

Iv been looking at this so far http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/hurricane_xs

sorry should also say i dont mind putting on natural muscle as im not competing so dont need to stay in a weight class. However my aim is to improve athletic performance and recovery not to mass build

    thoughts?

Thats more a meal replacement. A good recovery supplement has a 2:1 ratio of carbs to protien.
    such as http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/recovery_xs
or if i could suggest getting a good normal protien powder and buying dextrose or another simple carb (sugar) supplement so you can tailor the amounts to yourself and see what quantity of carbs and protien works for you

Donaire uses Scivation's Extend, which is a good product I used it a few years back but it's a lil on the pricey side. It has a 2:1:1 ratio of BCAA's as well as citrulline malate which is good.

Also depending on what phase of training you are in you can opt for the 2:1 carb protein but if you are cutting you might want to slim down on the carbs

Xtend is a great BCAA product, probably tastes the best of the lot, but that says nothing.

I must agree Xtend is consider the best and not only that, its taste is amazing. The Grape flavor is one my favorites. On the side not it just got voted as the best recovery product out there.

Victor Conte would suggest that PED's are the way to go.

THe extend also seems like its an intra workout supplement not a post workout recovery? Sounds really good though regardless

branched chain amino acids, a good supplement for recovery, not really the be all and end all though, but probably would work well for you.

I've only ever tried the Lemon/Lime whatever it was, I wasn't too impressed :D
everyone raves about the grape flavour though, but I don't like grape flavour. although probably has nothing in common :)

to be honest this is what i was thinking of, i eat fairly well, always have a "meal" post workout normally tuna wraps with lots of salad. Just want to cover all the basis. My workouts get more extreme i figure i need to really start making sure my body is getting all it needs, supplements of not!

So is the extend recovery as in post workout or is it meant during workout and also helps recovery . Im being thick i know

Believe it or not... a teaspoon of baking soda BEFORE the workout.
