So I happen to be watching Jermall Charlo on the Mike Tyson Hotboxin podcast.....This is not just about Charlo in particular but just using him as an example. Tyson tried so hard to get Charlo to call out names he wants to fight, Charlo just seemed so frail and timid to not name anyone. (Except Canelo) I don't agree with some things Canelo has done, but damn he makes sense when he said all these fighters need to fight each other first! Everyone wants to protect there "0" and all we see is just names like Parker, Whyte, Suleki fighting the "A" level guys.
At first I thought The PBC was a good thing we actually got more fighters fighting each other when they were all part of the golden boy roster. Not because Oscar is an amazing promoter (he is coked out of his mind over half the time, which is why he lost most of his stable to begin with) by the pbc snatching a vast number of de la hoya ‘s stable. It caused even more splintering of boxing with promoters tied to networks killing fights. Charlo vs jaime Munguía is a perfect example of this. In retrospect PBC snatching Goldenboy fighters is the worst thing that could have happened & I blame Oscar & his demons for all of it.
I wonder how much Crawford is asking for that they are still boxing him out with No Arum in the picture?
There's truth to this. There's been no reason any Charlo bro hadn't fought Andrade already. Maybe even Jacobs before he moved up. I mean...damn...these guys are 31. They aren't even young lions. But their resumes are a joke for their age and talent. But hey, at least they get paid well. But them getting paid well and $2 MIGHT get me a cup of drip.
They want the fame and the fortune, that's all. Jacobs put Charlo in his place. But yes you are right, there is no reason for Charlo, Andrade, Benavidez, Bivol, Beterbiev and Plant to fight each other. Same goes for Haney, Tank, Garcia. Props to Rollie for fighting Tank, he may not win but props to him!
It's certainly a frustrating time to be a boxing fan. All those guys, I do like. PBC has some real talent. But eff Al 'The Paul Bearer' Haymon . Guy's a cancer to the sport.
Rollie is garbage with less promotional backing than anyone else you listed. Why are you giving him credit as if he's breaking the norm?
the good Charlo jermell at 154 was signed to fight Andrade and he pulled out 2 weeks before the fight, that’s the petty excuse the other Charlo Jermall uses to avoid him at 160. I don’t think you can hate on Mell he’s basically undisputed at 154 and has even called out his brother saying he needs to step up his comp, I can’t blame you I was the same way and lumped them into the same boat until I saw the one at 154 was unified WBC/WBA/IBF champ he fighting the fights to make at 154 idk what’s wrong with his twin?
Feel Jermell shouldn’t have to receive flack because Jermall is bring scared. Jermell has continued to fight all the top guys in his division and Andrade pulled out of a fight against him. He’s doing fine by rematching the #1b fighter in his division.. Jermall on the other hand has only fought 2 fighters in the top 10 since moving up..
If you follow the sport, his name has been mentioned a good bit along with the other younger guys. If you are just a casual fan, you might not know who Andrade, Beterbiev, or Benavidez is.
