I don't agree, Beterbiev is a more skilled fighter in his style of fighting than Sadam is in his. There's more to boxing skills than just counterpunching off the backfoot.

Moreover, the overall package matters more than just "skills", and Beterbiev has got that equalizer with his freakish strength and power.

Good stuff boys we can agree to disagree no use in trying to convince each other otherwise. You have your preferences I respect that though to say Beterbiev is way more skilled tells me there's a hint of biased involved skill can be determined and defined in many different ways however versitily, footwork, movement, speed all play a huge factor when creating a sound boxer. Ali overall has more layers in his game than Beterbiev plain and simple. I forget my audience in this particular forum/thread might be somewhat partial to certain types of fighters so I apologize in advance if I'm offending anyone but being around boxing my entire life I know skills when I see it. We have to remember we probably come from different schools regarding the fight game so taking that into account I can see why you view things the way you do. Peace

Ok, you said footwork and movement. Sadam specializes in countering whilst moving backwards whereas Beterbiev is a pressure fighter, these are two different types of footwork, one is offensive and the other is defensive, neither of the two are superior it's just a matter of styles.

Now in my honest opinion, Beterbiev's offensive footwork is more impressive than Sadam's defensive footwork. Just an opinion.

Timing beats speed, it's far more important to consider that than just looking at plain speed and flashiness when trying to assess the fighter's skill level.

And you do not win olympic gold medals without being skilled, that's for sure. Beterbiev makes complicated things look easy, his defense is not flashy but it's effective, neither is his footwork but he's very skilled at doing what he does.

Of course had to pull out the "biased" card didn't you, for a simple difference in opinion, it simply can't be so that I without being partial think that Beterbiev is a more skilled fighter, no that's just impossible. We're not talking about Mayweather here.

Sadam Ali is crearly several levels above Lomachenko skill wise as well. Nevermind basic stiff robots like Beterbiev.

    Understood good post

The biased comes from the supposed vast difference in skill level they have their particulars subtle differences I just don't see this huge gap in skill set...it just isn't true.

Not at all. Sadam Ali makes Loma look like a stiff Euro robot. Any Murican can clearly see that!

    Lol I respectfully disagree

Lomo is awesome but unproven in my opinion at the pro ranks I look forward to what he can bring. Sadam Ali, Crawford and Pedraza I quite enjoy the way the operate slick skilled boxers who engage

Well I never said there was a huge gap in skillset, I do think Beterbiev is more skilled, but I said Beterbiev is levels above him as a fighter in general, that's taking everything into account not just boxing skill.

So you enjoy Crawford, Ali and Pedraza for their skillset but you're waiting to see what Loma can bring.........he's already brought it but your bias won't allow you to see that, he stopped a good fighter in Ramirez in his first match, he almost beat Salido by KO in his second match and schooled Gary Russell Jr. and Gamalier Rodriguez already, which are both far greater accomplishments than anything Ali and Pedraza(who I like) have achieved.

Well Beterbiev is using his God given natural blessings while Ali in my opinion has a broader bag of tricks because he needs to, he's a good puncher but he doesn't have a awesome equalizer like Beterbiev. Both are fighters that just execute different based on their physical attritibes/advantages.

Lomo has a handful of fights in the pro level this the reason why I'm waiting to see what he can bring on a consistent basis.....not sure what's so illogical about that....Ali and Pedraza and especially Crawford have more rounds in the bag on a pro level no need to antogonize me bully lmao

I didn't debate Crawford's level of skill, but thus far Lomachenko is more proven than Ali and Pedraza, Lomachenko struggled in his SECOND match with Salido a WW at the time who hit him low over 100 times, who just gave hell to Rocky Martinez and stopped Juanmax2 and gave Gamboa and Mikey troubles at times. And still Loma almost stopped him. Struggling in your second match with a wily blood and guts warrior is far less embarrassing than struggling with your 20th opponent Jeremy Bryan mightily who'd previously been KO2 by Amir Imam. Ali is still an unproven commodity. Lomachenko's win over Russell is better than anything Ali has accomplished.
