I haven't looked on Boxrec, but assuming Rees is still with Sports Network, it is safe to assume the following..... 1. The man is a blown up 130lb'er 2. He can't punch 3. He is slow
Figuero is ranked 3 or 4 the WBC at LWW but it is strange that Warren has allowed him to take this fight on another promotion.
yeh its good that rees is staying in the world title picture. fair play to him. i have an extremly low opinion of him but this is changing my mind a little bit.
Doesn't seem like it. 13 of 19 wins by knockout. He's never weighed in lower than 140 and has been as high as 147. He's a southpaw, and he's American so he'll probably have a style which Rees won't be accustomed to. I think Rees loses.
Hmmm...... Well Rees is used to feather fisted chumps - with the obvious exception of Kotelnik, which he lost. He needs to stop eating burgers and get down to 126 to have any success IMO.
Figueroa was one of Hatton's sparring partners at some point, I saw a few vids of him - looks like a bit of a showboater, couldn't really tell if he was any good though due to the limited footage. He used to have his own webpage, can't seem to find it now.
he sparred with hatton, mosely and few others! I think in Round 11 or 10, you can hear shane's trainer telling him to remember the "gato figueroa move" . This was in the Mayorga fight.
i hope rees can win this.i think his title win came too early for him hes an ice laddie,i met him in vegas and a decent guy ,and his bird is soo hot btw
he's quite fast and tricky. hatton used him in the run up to collazo. i've remember seeing a spar they had around that time and he handled hatton ok. hatton was beginning to get some paydirt at the end mind. :yep gato on pts i reckon. hope i'm wrong. :thumbsup
