Ref: "No talking" - during boxing match...

I get a little annoyed with Arthur Mercante Jr. always making a thing out of fighters talking.

You stand there idly by while Pernell Whitaker almost beats Diobleys Hurtado to death but make a big thing out of fighters talking to each other?

 

Yeah who cares? These guys are pro's, should be able to handle a bit of trash talk. I always wondered why the most brutal sport demands gentlemen?

What the **** is the ref gonna do if they continue talking? Deduct points? Yeah, right. Go **** yourself.

I've seen ref's do that before; Lol.. never thought of it happening to two guys who didn't even speak the same language.. I guess they could get the jist of what the other one said by the sound of it.. Lol.. so they just replied back in kind.

Personally I think it is all part of the game; that's like telling fighters to not stick their chins out.. if it baits the other guy.

 

Mercante Sr. threatened to take points away during Roy Jones v David Telesco for talking.

 

Ali was pre warned by a ref that if he talked like he usually does,it would mean he had to pay a fine. I think he was fighting that argentinian dude that couldnt speak English anyway:rofl

talking **** and show boating should be aloud beause all it does is put a burnig desire in the other fighter to shut him up.. that makes for better fights in my opinion
