i think there's some confusion here...Rangers i'm assuming are a UK area football team... Celtics are NBA...you guys can have your intersports pissing match, just saying there's a disconnect here. I was surprised the ref didn't stop it.But then i started seeing what he saw, and that was Brock rolling and blocking the punches and letting Shane get rope-a-doped by Brock off his back. Amazing fight by Brock. He kinda crumpled like a ***** the first time he took that hit and you could tell when he recoiled that he was deep in "Not the Face" mode but he fought his way back and got the win.
atschatschatsch Here's a tip: when you don't have a clue what people are talking about, best to not comment at all instead of wading in there like a concerned teacher and making a complete twat of yourself. Celtic are the main rivals of Rangers, both are football teams from Glasgow in Scotland, and that's where the argument started.
I agree that he obviously was ok enough to win. But the rule is you must intelligently defend yourself at all times, and he wasn't doing that. I think if it was more or less anyone else the ref would have stopped it.
But Brock wasn't seriously hurt or out of it. I've seen a lot of refs let fights go in that situation, and I've seen refs stop it prematurely in that situation. Brock wasn't out of it nor badly hurt so it was obviously a good call to allow the fight to continue.
Not really disagreeing with you. All I'm saying is that to the letter of the UFC law it should have been stopped and in most other situations I think it would have been. You must intelligently defend yourself at all times!!!
its a main event with enormous hype. you dont stop that fight unless someone is seriously stiffened. Excellent job by the ref.
I disagree with that interpretation of the rules. The ref should stop the fight if he feels the fighter under attack can no longer adequately defend himself. Brock was adequately defending himself, he was covering and he was trying to hang in there, there was no sign of submission from him, and no sign that he was losing consciousness, therefore you have to give the man every chance. If you stop every fight where a guy is covering up on the ground, then many UFC fights would be getting stopped too early. You have to judge each case on its individual merits, and in this case the referee made 100% the right call on Brock's condition during the assault. I remember thinking that the 1st Taylor-Pavlik fight should've been stopped in the 2nd round... and we all know what happened there. If the guy isn't showing any quit in him, you have to give him every chance.
For being such a failure, as you put it. You have posted on it more than any one else. And as for the racist comment, you'll need to enlighten me on that one.
I was thinking it was just a matter of time but i gotta say good job ref. Lesnar was still defending so he had to keep it going. Carwin got excited and wasted his energy in the first round. You can tell that carwin was tired before the first round was over. Carwin just need to pace himself next time and work on his stamina. He could have been the champion right now if he had stamina.
