The ref bringing up the doctor to check the fighter as the round is about to start happens regularly.

The commentators mentioned it during the live fight, Wilder has HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE! I had Ortiz winning every round except two, so did Steve Farhood, Haymon owned the judges, also Wilder hit behind the head, then threw Ortiz down on the canvas, etc., a 50 year old sick man on two different blood pressure meds almost knocked Wilder out and probably would have if not for Haymon's referee. Boxing is corrupt!

Wilder always does that....he actually did hit Stiverne in the back of the head first. Its like a giant hook from 10 feet away as his glove cuffs the opponents neck.

It should definatley be a concern and one his opposition needs to study on footage.

it's not the first time this has happened in New York. The liberals there are trying to check for concussions after rounds like that like they do in the NFL. New York is the same state that banned MMA for a long time

Yes, that was a ridiculously obvious blatant attempt to win some more time for Wilder to recover.

Let's not be hypocritical, Ortiz had whole 8th round where he could knock Wilder out, Wilder was a "semi-corpse" in the 8th. So this 15 second was a nothing

NYSAC rules, isn't it? If someone was badly buzzed you can get the Dr to check for longer. Which is fine but my only question to that is why didn't Ortiz get the same treatment after he was actually put down?

    FINALLY somebody who speaks FACTS.

Its the rules! Whether or not its a good rule is another question.

If you guys didn't know in the state of New York those checks are mandatory after a fighter is hurt. These rules were put in place after the death of Magomed in the Perez fight.

    /End thread.

The ref should have stopped the fight and not giving Wilder extra time to recover. This is the most blatant corrupt act in boxing for a long long time. Shameful, disgusting.

Which he had the entire minute between rounds to do so, and obviously should've done literally as soon the bell rung to end the 7th round.

Blatantly fishy stuff in Haymon matches going on all the time.

The doc had the whole time between the rounds to check Wilder and take a look if he is ready to continue.

It's quite odd checking the fighter as he is standing in front of his opponent to fight the next round if you have the chance to check him directly after he got hammered and smashed by his opponent the round before.

Why the doc did not say before Wilder stand up "Wait, i have to take a look"...NO, Wilder stood up, walks in front of Ortiz, then the Ref took bim back in the corner and then the doc took a look.

The ref should have ask the doc immediately after the round to take a look and to observe Wilder if he can continue, not after both fighters were ready to fight.

    Disgusting cheating.
