Thd WBC must’ve had the ref very aware of Wilder close to being KO’d, and the ref so he was still stunned at the beginning of the eighth and he took action; he illegally gave him an extra 20 seconds to recover, instead of letting Ortiz finish him off

That's one reason why I no longer use PPV. I once paid fifty dollars and it all wound up with the ref deciding who was going to win by blatantly interfering in favor of the one he wanted to win.

I just rewatched the fight, i did notice this at the first time I watched the fight but didn't make much of it because I was so hyped at what I was watching. But when I just rewatched it, my reaction when I saw it was 'OMG'.

But can ANYONE tell me exactly why the referee stops the action at the beginning of the 8th round????? Go watch it again, both fighters ready for the 8th round then suddenly the ref stops it and wilder goes to the corner and a doc shines a light in his eyes, what the fooks that all about???? It bought wilder precious seconds to help compose himself which when you are in that staggered phase can help a LOT.
