After watching the referee in the James Kirkland fight last night does anybody else think that Golden Boy Promotions will do all they can to make sure he is the ref??

The way he let Carlos Molina hold up close and spoil the fight would be a great way to ensure that Amir gets his titles back.

What do you think? Jon Schorle for refereeing duties on 19th May!!

It will probably be Joe Cortez? That bald headed ******* will stop Peterson even thinking about trying to fight on the inside.

GBP already select referees and judges based on their fighter's style. Some think this is "good sense", I think it's a much more blatant form of corruption than ringing a bell early.

  4. Cortez would suit Khan down to the ground.

Bayless would probably be the worst possible choice, or Tony Weeks.

Let's hope it's not Cortez again, Peterson won't get a fair shake

He reffed khan v maidana, which was for the WBA belt

  12. I'm pretty sure the commission appoints the officials and the alphabet body approves or rejects them. Given that most of Nevada's referees are very good it's probably a rare occurence.

The respective camps of the fighters have the right to appeal against a particular referee, Lou Duva didn't want Richard Steele reffing Chavez vs Taylor I due to a perceived friendship with Don King.

Imagine being the manager of a foreign fighter coming here for a Commonwealth title fight.

    I don't want him, don't want him, don't want him, don't want him.... oh, I'll have.... erm no actually I won't -:)dead:nono

My money's on Sloe Cortez, if it wasn't for him I'm convinced Maidana would have stopped Khan. For big fights I don't see why anyone would use a ref apart from Kenny Bayliss, he's leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else.
