I'm still kinda thinking about this a little bit and I am sure people will disagree with me but what if the referee did an excellent job tonight. Think about this: Supposed low blows from Dirrell to AA-ref wasn't buying it, I wasn't either Second "supposed" knockdown of AA-The ref might be right on this one as wll not sure. AA's "supposed" knockdown of Dirrell in the 10th- Abraham hits Dirrell, Dirrell gets pushed back but AA's foot trips up Dirrell as he is moving back. Its hard to tell from the angles if this really happened. AA's blatant shot of Dirrell while he was sitting on the canvas, act of frustration resulting in a justified disqualification. If you look at it from this standpoint, the ref might have done a good job tonight or possibly "he sucked". Let me know what you guys think!
even if Dirrell got tripped up after taking the punch from Abraham, its still the punch that initiated the KD. Therefore, it should be a KD. the ref was ok for the most part. The KD was a blatant mistake though, and an important one too. Also, at some point Abraham is firing off at Dirrell's body and the ref breaks them, that was ******ed. All in all, decent ref, but probably slightly biased.
I think he was pretty bad. He was fair with the low blows, but my problem is if Dirrell is credited with a KD after he pushed Abraham then hit him, then Abraham should have gotten credit with the KD in the 10th. They both were iffy IMO, but they both should have either been KD's or not. The 2nd potential KD that Dirrell may have gotten on Abraham was a good no call, because it looked like Dirrell threw Abraham down, like he did a bit of an o'ley, but that was watching it live, because Showtime didn't show a replay. Also, I forget what round, but Abraham has Dirrell in the corner, then all of a sudden the ref breaks them up for no reason. That was **** as well. Overall, I think he did pretty bad and he showed he was biased.
But how do we know if Dirrell would have fallen down if he had not been tripped? Thats what I'm asking
Cole is a sucky ref, I think they could have picked someone else. Yes its a DQ and it a right call. But this call alone will never fix what cole has done in the past. He has been suspended and fined before. I was siuprised to see he was named to ref the fight. All in All he sux.
Overall I think the ref did pretty fine the abraham kd was a tough one to call because of the feet getting tangled and my gut instinct was that he was correct and dirrell wouldn't have gone down without the foot getting tangled.
not good at all 1- Andre was cheated of a knockdown when the ropes held AA up 2- AA was cheated of the kd in round 10 3- Direll could have suffered a couple of warnings for low blows. . just a reminder to keep them up if nothing else 4- Ref took no recognition of AA's rabbit punching 5- Ref should have took more control when the doctors was in the corner repairing AA's eye during the time out lol 6- Something should have been said about AA leaving his glove out in the air. You cant just leave them out there without punching.
