The referee, is the only person allowed to stop a boxing fight. The referee in GGG vs Brook, should have thrown the towel out of the ring, and ordered the fighters to continue fighting. Brooks trainer has no authority to stop the fight. They are prizefighters, being paid to fight and put on a performance worthy of their purse, worthy of the paying customers entery fee, and those watching on PPV. The "Broken Cheek-Bone" excuse is laughable. Brook's face was not even swollen or bruised, he was not exhausted or taking unanswered punches. Can you imagine the trainer of Gatti, Frazier, Quarry, Chacon, Holyfield, Basilio or Matthew Saad Muhammad throwing in the towel, like Kell Brooks trainer did?... The referee should have thrown the towel out of the ring, and ordered Brooks trainer off the ring apron.

It seems u didn't notice Brook pawing his eye from the second round onwards indicating somethings seriously wrong. It seems u didn't notice when (I believe in between the 3rd/4th) with the towel over his head he told Ingle something was up with his eye. It seems u didn't notice he ate probably 60 unanswered punches (not entirely clean).

Do you want Brook to eventually end up like Vasquez with a glass eye?

For you, does he HAVE to be stumbling around the ring with his eye dangling out so the fight is stopped. If yes, then go watch a bull fight in Spain. Boxing is not for u.

    The stoppage was legit.

The corner can stop any fight, like Biggie said, if you dont know now you know

If Marlon B would've done that his career would've been over and he would've been accused of complicity of aggravated assault and face jail time

    You're the only one laughing.

Yes. Frazier's corner stopped Ali-Frazier 3 before the 15th round.

GGG vs Brook was the most pathetic stoppage of any world title fight in boxing history.

You gotta love people complaining about the stoppage when fighter's own corner pulled him out and nobody else. Brook and his people didn't want to go on, this is the fact.

the corner trainers see a guy everyday, its there guy they know when something is not right. I trust the corner more than the ref to stop a fight.

refs have made more than enough blunders and bloopers over the years.

What if referee would have refused to stop the fight and brook would have lost his sight forever? Or worse? This is tough sport but we are no sadists and it's not some roman gladiator fight to death. I don't want anyone to get seriously injured or die in the ring. Have you ever been in the ring and ate clean shot from someone with a good power?

Brook probably broke his eye socket before the 5th round. Complained about it to his trainer.
The trainer saw his fighter being beaten a lot by hard punches and protected his pupil for further damage.
Anyway you see it, it is a good en legitimate stoppage. And I disagree that only the ref can stop a match. because the ref possibly did not know about the injury.

Do you find it satisfying watching somebody fight when there is obviously something wrong with his health? Brook was fighting with one functioning eye from the third round on. If the ring doctor knew it, he would have stopped it after the second round.

They should have fought to death for your entertainment Nero! Perhaps you are being ironic, your list includes mostly boxers suffered as a result of excessive trauma.
