Thinking about it - if this match happens it will depend a lot on what the ref allows. I'm not a huge fan of Hattons grapple and hold style but if the the ref steps in toooo much and doesnt allow Hatton to exersize his natural style it will heavily favour Floyd.

But if the Ref gives Ricky tooo much slack it will favour the Hittman.

My view is if Ricky can get him against the ropes and keep him there most of the fight he'll put some serious hurt on Mayweather.

If Osca didnt tire and couldt keep the pressure up Floyd wouldn't have one.....Ricky is the ultimate pressure fighter.

Having said that I would still some how put money on Floyd....this fight with Castillo will gives some insight into how Ricky will look against Mayweather.

I'm a massive Hatton fan but Floyd would beat the living hell out of him at the moment. He's looked not too far from shot in his last two fights and just doesn't seem to get into the rhythm anymore. Plus 'his style' is not hit/hold and grapple, this mauling tactic seemed to be from the KT fight, but even in that it was nothing like his last two poor showings.

FMJ would stop Ricky on cuts or box circles round him for a UD.

The ref will decide whether Hatton wins 4 rounds or 2.

I can't see Hatton winning more than 2 rounds against Floyd.

SUmhow i cnt see hatton lastin a few rounds wid PBF. PBF frustrates u wid his hit and run tactics and iv seen Hatton (against Maussa and Collazo) he tends to get sloppy, lose focus and walk thru shots (namely the collazo fight). As PBF sumhow has braggin rights now and the ability to call the shots, he will undoubtedly make sure he has ricky at welter. Ricky is too small to fill out for Welter IMO.

Hatton needs to prove to a lot fight fans that hes worth the fights hes talkin up. Even afta Castillo i dnt think its gna be enuff to kick up a fuss. Providing he beats him anyhow.

The "deciding factor" will be if Floyd breaks both his hands or not.

How the fight would be officiated would obviously be a factor. A lenient ref would allow Hatton to work the way he wants. A very strict ref would clearly benefit Mayweather.

I guess you have a point. A good ref would obviously favor the better fighter who fights a cleaner fight.

Hatton won't need to use the same tactics of clinching and inside fighting vs Mayweather becasue Mayweather isn't Tszyu

Exactly, Mayweather is a better boxer than Tszyu, so Hatton's only chance at winning this fight would be to bully Mayweather on the inside. If he tries to stay on the outside and box, well then he would get beat the the red-headed stepchild he is.

Sounds like Ricky is a little TOO rough for the Yanks!! But as the man himself likes to say 'It isn't a tickling contest'!!

It also isn't the ****ing UFC either. Sounds to me like the Cockney kids can't box so they feel the need to compensate buy wrestling their way to victory...
