Just on tape, and this isn't so much aimed at the refs - but we put a man on the moon 40 years ago for God's sake. In 2009, can't we standardise on some tape that actually stays where it's put (ie on the gloves)? Prime example of the issues caused being Mundine vs Geale. Perhaps the refs should carry some 'good' tape in their pockets, like cricket umpires do. Then when corners want to play around the ref can simply put on a layer of tape on that 'aint comin' off! - let's stop with the silly games.
or better still, make them have that arm tied behind their back. although that still wouldn't have helped lacy beat jones.
