I'd say so, too. Except Floyd did look untouchable against Canelo and Guerrero.

I'd put those 3 fights as his best showings (physically) since he came back.

Idk to be honest. Guerrero legitimately won 3 rounds, most people scored the fight 9-3. That is closer than many fighters Floyd has faced. On top of that, Guerrero showed he really wasn't that great.

I would say at the end of the day, Floyd's best performance may very well have been Canelo....in the future at least. If Canelo ends up being great. But that was night and day compared to the Maidana performances.

Pacquiao and Floyd can look great TODAY against the right opponent!

He looked good but awkward against Guerrero. Canelo fought the perfect fight for Mayweather to shine.

    :good:good great post....

Floyds style MAY have aged easier than Mannys but i think i am in the minority in thinking the fight is actually closer now than 5 years ago?..

i think Floyd is far easier to find in the ring now ,after watching him completely school Canelo i was shocked at how easily Maidana was able to get at Mayweather, after all Maidana had never really shown anything previously to suggest he was going to give Floyd his hardest test for a very long time...it was almost billed as a complete miss match ,cherry pick....

    both declined.

pac more on ring age than actual age.

floyd more on actual age than ring age.

but you have to factor the conditioning coaches too. it could spell the difference.

No offense, but you and many others were shocked because you're a bunch of gullible fools who totally fell into the "he cherry pikz" parade that it made you totally blind.

Stylistically, as I and others have regularly mentioned, Maidana has what it takes to trouble someone like Mayweather. A style which is overly aggressive, wild and regularly smothering is the ideal style to trouble Mayweather and make him look bad. That style doesn't allow Mayweather to develop a rhythm and feel comfortable enough in there to fully adapt at will and be as unpredictable as he wishes to be. However, Mayweather's only strategy was to outlast that style and hope for Maidana to run out of gas applying it. Which means that Mayweather had to withstand too many blows in the process because he simply can't move around as he used to.

im no gullible fool thank you very much.......as i pointed out ,after mayweather schooled Canelo i was expecting more of the same against Maidana...a one paced come forward in lines fighter being picked off, which ultimately is what happened but i wasnt prepared for Maidana causing Mayweather so much trouble...

im just being honest.its easy to call a fight after the bout...

I'm going to actually answer the question. When were their primes?

For Manny it was Lucero-Cotto. So about 2003-2009. This was him at his absolute best.

For Floyd I'd say from Corrales to Mosley. So about 2001-2010.

If we're going to be specific I'd say Pacquiao's physical peak was sometime around when he fought the Mexicans for the first time.

During that time he was carrying extreme power and speed and stamina. In the first Barrera fight I don't think I've seen a swarming performance sustained for that long. Ever......

I really don't because he was throwing hard punches and moving laterally for 11 entire rounds without the slightest sign of fatigue.
