This fight lacked the explosiveness of the first two

I enjoyed the fight, only because it was so great to see Marquez clearly winning.

    - But Manny was so reluctant to engage, and so many of his "punches' completely missed, that really it wasn't all THAT spectacular at all.

if you are expecting a K.O win, then YES. But I was not expecting anything from Pacman even to win this. Being a boxing enthusiast, you have to sometimes avoid premises such as: Pacquiao > Margarito and Margarito > Marquez and Pacquiao>Cotto and Cotto>Marquez and Pacquiao>Marquez.

But as I said, Marquez was way short to topple the Pacman.

Exactly. Marquez learned a lesson from his KDs. Pacman learned a lesson from the counters. Result: Both reluctant. And the challenger didn't do enough to win.

The first two were in fact better like many mentioned. Marquez put on a boxing clinic and made me think Pac is a shot fighter-- or is it 'styles make fights'?

You remember after the Pacman-Marquez II, many thought that Pacman should retire for good. I hope after this, the Pacman fire will light up once more.

Wish I was watching it on a different telecast though. The HBO team could suck a golf ball through a garden hose that night.

You can just try by not assuming that you watch them fight before.

I watched it with speakers off. Not the best performance of Pacman. Best counter-striking from Marquez but not enough to win the fight..

If it's purely a 'styles make fights' thing and Pacquiao is not on the decline the news is still kinda grim for Pacquiao because all this fight showed is that Pacquiao has difficulty with 'great' counter punchers.

So counter punchers: mayweather > marquez AND has the bigger reach. BUT its hard to tell with him too since he only fights every 2 years.

Bottom line we need new young hungry guys coming up that aren't rich yet. It has been a bad final quarter of the year for boxing...

It was Sweet Science Masterclass at it's best - an aged, smaller and weaker veteran showed his young rival levels of boxing he haven't even known about. Surely, I enjoyed it and was positively surprised.
