Regardless of who wins, Pacquiao ranks higher than Mayweather

Got that right. If Pacquiao gets stopped inside 60 seconds, he's still higher P4P than Floyd Mayweather Jr. Goodluck to both combatants.

 

Douglas beat Tyson. I guess we have to put Douglas ahead of Tyson in terms of accomplishments. If Pacquiao's and Mayweather's accomplishments are very close to each other, then you might have a point. But Pacquiao's resume is already miles ahead of Mayweather.

So yes, Floyd cannot be ranked higher than Pac even if Floyd beats Pac.

 

Are you kidding? Pac ate like crazy in his last fight just so that he won't fall too far from 145lbs. Pac can easily make 140lbs but Floyd can't even make 144lbs. So no, they are not in the same weight class.

Pac winning a title in WW against an elite opponent is just a testament to his greatness. But accept it that Pac can still make the lower weights. That is because he really belongs in the lower weights.

Floyd on the other hand is a multi devision champ with wins over some dame good fighters and was considered the p4p best for some time.. when was Cal considered 1# p4p?

both floyd and pac are consider huge trophies for anyone..

 

I am confused. Why fight the fight if it is not going to determine whose the better fighter? So you are saying that Pac can lose to Mayweather but Pac is still the better fighter. Why because it is at 147? Would you feel better at catchweight. What concessions would you like for Floyd to prove he is the better fighter. Also, all this ATG and pound for pound is subjective and matter of opinion.

 

i agree. floyd beating pac, doesn't mean he gets his accomplishments. factor out that pac did it on a span of 7 divisions. there are threads out there trying to say that pac is not a little man anymore trying to discredit his accomplishments but who really has done it? if floyd wants to be as great as pac is currently now, he had to do more. just a little under 2 years ago, pac fighting hatton, oscar, cotto and floyd were considered a joke. now pac has beaten 3 of them and is fighting floyd. if floyd wants to be as great as pac, he had to do the impossible now as pac had done the impossible then. he first should beat pac, fight winner of mosley-berto, and fight at the higher weights and beat guys like paul williams and/or kelly pavlik.

pac is already locked at top 25. as far as PBF goes, a loss would put him in the same level as dela hoya, definitely outside top 60

 

PBF's win needs to be supported by another great win for him to crack at top 25. If he beats pac i would put him inside top 35.

 

did you even read my post? pac was not supposed to fight them never mind beat them just 1.5 years ago. pac has done the impossible back then when all the people are saying that he is maxed-out at 130. it means he went up and beat fighters he was not suppose to fight nor beat. it was impossbe back then. when floyd fought them, he was suppose to fight people in his weight-class. now, if i will equate what pac has done on his last 3 fights to floyd, floyd should do the seemingly impossible now and beat elite bigger guys at weight class above his. and this is also the reason now why most people have pac way ahead of floyd in terms of greatness. :yep

 

lol yeah. some of us "*******s" are rolling a bit to far with this. if Floyd wins it will NOT mean nothing. In fact it will mean a LOT. my view is simply that a loss will not hurt pacquio's standing too much while a loss for Floyd will hurt a LOT. floyd will always be considered one of the best super-feather's in history. but all his career at the higher weights has always been questionable and will be shattered if PAC wins.
