Regardless of who wins, Pacquiao ranks higher than Mayweather

  1. Yep. It's just like when Floyd beat DLH at junior middle. Doesnt mean he was ever a real junior middle. Just a guy who could fight well at that weight. It's not really a very complex concept

In terms of money he's in a win/win situation. In terms of respect and admiration from his critics, he's in a no win situation.

What if De La Hoya would've beat the **** out of Mayweather, would you turn around and claim the Mayweather was still the better fighter?

    Jack... Ass.

  5. lol. Man Im sorry there are built in excuses here. It's not my fault, it's just the way it is. Manny is a 140 pound fighter and Floyd is a Welterweight at this point in time. That's just the way it is. Floyd will get his props if he wins, dont worry: Although he wont have proven he is the best Welter, he will have proven that he can beat a guy who is just as good or even better than the best welters going around. So you'll be fine.

actually before the fight was made, I said that at 147, it was pretty much 50/50, maybe slightly leaning towards Pac. I said that becuase of the size difference and also said before that if it happens in March I'm gonna have to reevaluate my pick. So those things were laid out on the table before the fight was official.

Floyd beating Pac does alot for him. It confirms that he's a better WW than Pac. But just not a better p4p fighter.

You can act like its just an excuse now that the fight is made, but it isn't, I've stated that from the beginning. Before the fight was made.

Actually, if you go back to 2008, before Pac fought Oscar, Pac was already considered a greater fighter than Floyd. At that time, noone expected Pac to ever step into the ring against Floyd, since it was too much of a disadvantage in terms of size. So now all of a sudden he's supposed to step in and if he doesn't win its cause Floyd is a better fighter? Thats such a turnaround that its pathetitic..

It will have a little bit of impact, yes, but very little. This has been proven time and time again throughout history.

Because his legacy is set. Any losses from now on, only mildly affect his achievements. Mayweather's legacy isn't set.

Exactly...in point one you disagree and in point four, you agree. Complete contradiction.

If Pac loses this fight then it shows that all that crap against DLH, Hatton, and Cotto were the results of the outside factors.

If he gets shut out? You *******s will never hear the end of it. Nate Campbell will be roasting you on every Boxing forum known to man!

  9. Well to be honest, I dont regard Floyd a better fighter than DLH at that stage based on resume. But you can definitely say that DLH had more to lose from that fight cause he was fighting a smaller man. But then again he also had the built in excuse that he was over the hill..so its complicated. Hopefully yo9u get the general concept though.

This will be Manny's 3rd fight at WW. How many fights does he need to have in the division to be considered a WW?

He was a year older than Floyd will be for this fight. He also looked great in his previous outing.

Duran's "No Mas" is well remembered cause Durans was the simbol of "Machismo" the guy nobody could ever see quiting in the ring,as for it always being on some list of boxings top moments that doesnt have any value to me,Tyson biting Holyfield's ear also makes those lists and is more talked about than Holyfield beating Tyson from pilar to post in they're first fight.

Those lists are often consisted of freak things that happened like the fan man interrupting the Bowe-Holyfield II fight.

As for casual fans most of them dont even know who Duran and SRL are its like here where i live Tyson is only known for the ear biting accident.

You also have to take in consideration they're entire career the fact that Duran was the only one of the fab four that beat SRL makes that win more significant than SRL beating Duran which was something all the others did too.

  13. lol. I doubt it. If PAC gets shut out it will just be because Mayweather is an exceptional fighter.

If Oscar had won against Floyd, which he wasn't very far from doing, I would've still said Floyd was a better p4p fighter, but that at 154 that version of Oscar was better. There was no way that in 2007 Oscar was a better p4p fighter than Floyd, even if he won the fight.

I kind of agree with what you're saying.
If Pac loses it'll be a case of he finally just reached the peak and couldn't move up anymore in weight and competition and still be expected to win. If he does win, he beat the BEST guy, an unbeaten guy, at the highest weight class he could go. He's got history on his side as he always advanced in weight, fought bigger guys and guys who were considered at the top of their divisions.

If PBF loses, it'll be an affirmation for those who say he ducked the best fighter's and look what happened when he finally did fight one...and a smaller one at that. If he wins, there will always be the spectre of Pac's moving up in weight as the reason and who could rightfully expect Pac to beat a top p4p fighter with such a physical disadvantage. People will then say PBF SHOULD have won with that advantage. It's not that he would, or should go without credit for beating Pac, it's just that people will point to the size difference and not the skill difference as the reason.
