I think you're a pretty good poster but think you're completely off the mark with this one. Especially about the better overall fighter despite losing.

  2. "Pacquiao fans"? Try not to speak in generalities, your points have no impact. If people were saying that who were they? Was it anybody in this thread? I dont know about these other guys here but you will never find that I said that.

Pac walks around at the same weight as Mayweather. Pac has just been more of a weight cutter then Mayweather thats why he fought at lower weights. Both Mayweather and Pac have bulked up to WW and still have fantastic speed. They are the same size. Whoever wins the fight will have proven himself to be the superior fighter.

Actually if you look at my posting history you'll see that you're flat out wrong. I've always said that at 140, I expected Pac to destroy Floyd. That at a catchweight on a level playing field I thought Pac would beat him comfortably and that at 147 I thought it was pretty much a 50/50 fight. Then when the date of March 13 was suggested before the fight was official I said I thought it would be too soon for Pac, that he should take it in september after his elections.

You guys want to make it look like excuses but all this **** was laid out way in advance.

Wasn't cotto bigger than Pac? Does Cotto fight more aggressive than Mayweather?

Pac battered the **** out of cotto, so why wasn't cotto size a factor?

But when Mayweather beats pac, it's down to size rather than SKILL?

When has mayweather ever used his size to dominate an opponent?

First of all, Pac is not required to weigh in at 147. Second of all, why are Pac fans still clinging to the fact that Mayweather is the bigger guy when Pac just defeated a bigger man than Floyd?

And cutting weight is more difficult than gaining it.

There's alot of fighters that have an impact on the fight more than just who is the better fighter. For example before Guzman vs Funeka i said I thought Guzman was the better fighter but that he's lose to Funeka because of the style matchup. I still think Guzman is the better fighter and I'm not even a Guzman fan. Size is something that also affects the outcome of a fight and so is preperation and recuperation time.

    thats how i see it.

Ok i get it, if he loses the fight was to soon, he needed more time.

But if he wins, this guy is just incredible, he fought within 4 months and won the biggest fight of his life. He has to be top 10 ever.

Is that how it works? Make up disadvantages for pac, so that if he does happen to win, u can use it to boost his status even further:-(

  9. Cool. Well I'll start deploring Floyd for fighting Hatton and Marquez @ Welter when he could have fought them at their natural weights.

I don't see why people are so awed by this? Most boxers sacrifice calorie count in the leadup to a fight to strip down to the weight they want to fight at. As a result they run a calorie deficit, which affects their ability to train at the intensity that they would like to. But basically anyone who was going through something as rigorous and intense as a boxing training camp would need to be running a diet like that to keep their energy levels up and maintain weight.

My personal opinion is that many fighters cut too much weight to fight in a lower division and end up hurting themselves in the process by crippling their training and starving their bodies of calories and nutrients when they need them the most. Part of the reason Mayweather has had so much success is because he fight at right around his natural weight, so he does very little cutting and can focus on eating right and training, not training while eating little bird meals.

So really I don't give much credence to the idea that because Pac has to calorie load during training that he is naturally a smaller guy. He is muscle dense with a fast metabolism and a very harsh training routine. Of course he would drop weight if he didn't eat. On the other hand he's fighting at the same weight he trains at and he doesn't cripple his training to make weight, which is perhaps why he looks so great lately.

It's irrelevant because Pac and any top WW KO's Floyd easy. Why do you think Floyd never fights fighters in his own division?

So did Mosley and Margo whats your point *******?

  14. And really, that makes what difference? If Darchynian called out Floyd and ***** agreed, would that make him some kind of hero that never backs down from a challenge?? :rofl:rofl

First of all i don't think that Cotto is as good a fighter as FLoyd. Also, Cotto was an easier style matchup for Pac than Floyd is. I predicted that Pac would beat Cotto regardless of the weight and easily at that because I know Cotto was tailor made for him even though he is bigger.

Not the same case with Floyd who I consider on even grounds with Pac in terms of styles and behind Pac in terms of ability but not enough so that the size doesn't matter.

I actually said that even though Pac would beat Cotto at 147, the fight should happen at a catchweight so that way it would be fought on fair ground. Thats just how fights should be fought to really determine who is the better fighter.
