Loved by few, hated by many, but respected by all.

Not the respect where you admire him as a good human being or whatever, but the kind of respect where if you talk bad about him in person or try to disrespect him in anyway when he is feet away from you, you know he is going to hurt you and kill you i mean literally kill you, that kind of respect.

That's why I believe he'd get to Lennox's chin at least once in three fights on average. OTOH, Lewis is far and away the best super-heavyweight in boxing history. He didn't just have (significant) size and a ridiculously hard jab but was also one of the better punchers in heavyweight history IMO. His right hand was devastating. When Mike gets tied up, he's dealing with an awful lot of weight leaning on him and sapping his energy, which admittedly usually tapered off after the first five or six rounds. When a fight lasted that long, anyway.

I'd put money that Lewis' right hand >>> Earnie Shavers anyday

There's 2 kinds of respect and you should know this, one is the legit respect where even if you are frail or weak and an old man, if you treated people the same way you like to be treated when you were younger(which is being a good human being), most people will remember those good deeds and because of that, they respect you.

The second respect is what you call fear, do you remember Bronx Tale De niro movie? I'll quote De Niro "the only reason they respect this man because they fear him"

So basically you are saying im getting respect and fear confused when you know i'm not.

I thought every fighter Tyson fought in his prime were to scared to stand up to him and throw back which is why he won all his fights. I mean, wasn't the first person to throw back at him Douglas and that's why he lost???

Watch the Ruddock fights, man. He smashed Tyson a couple times in the face and Mike folded like the little ***** boy he is.

 

it is certainly sweet to see Tyson take that uppercut and come back with a left hook to knock the guy down. :smoke

 

Tyson certainly was a beast.

 

I've watched all his fights. Ruddock certainly won that fight. Both fights actually. Ref saved Tyson.

I'm just pointing out the amazement that the bull**** still continues to spread that nobody fought Tyson back until Douglas. Reggie Gross was no superstar and he was willing to fight back.

I swear people don't actually watch his fights and just pay attention to certain people who wanted to knock Tyson down.

5'11, 215, not much experience...even at 20...and yet he is the one that is Godzilla despite looking up to most of his opponents.

He had not heart, yet, tell me how many guys can go into a fight not in the best shape, Mentally Physically and Technically...and get the ass kicking he got from a 6'4, 230 pound, athletic, top rated fighter (at the time) like Douglas...who was known as a fighter with a lethal jab and according to Oliver McCall, could really hit.

I forgot, Tyson was a "game quitter" after he saw Douglas get back up according to Teddy Atlas.
Yeah, maybe, but WTF is that?
so that's a question of his heart?

Did Douglas break his confidence after the knockdown? Sure...why not. But my man was exhausted and was giving the best he had until the end. Even unleashing uppercuts when he was visibly hurt and his back against the ropes getting pounded by Douglas. And even right before he was knocked down, Tyson was moving in and not away from Douglas. After that brutal combination that dropped him on his back...and remember, that was him not seeing punches because of that puffed up eye...the MFer still staggered to his feet. But that's not heart atsch

 

Damn, he landed some hard uppercuts there.
