At last! :deal: Both of them want the smoke, and Eddie Hearn is smacking his chops.

It's been 3½ years since talks for this fight were last percolating - which is how long it has been since former longtime super featherweight García left the 140lb division for a whiplash ride taking him first back down to lightweight and then leap-frogging up for a pair at welter. Prograis has more or less consistently been a light welter throughout his career.

Each man took his only professional L in 2019, both to still-undefeated p4p stars in Josh Taylor and Errol Spence Jr. respectively. García is 2-0 since his against the latter, having not fought now since before the pandemic hit. Prograis is 1-0 since his own, beating up Ivan Redkach (and taking a TKO when Redkach essentially quit after being unintentionally fouled) just this past April.

How old is progaris he has the youth advantage yes?

Mickey has the boxing edge but prograis is relentless.

Both have one loss to the best in each division.
    Mikey to Spence
    & Prograis to Taylor

this a tough one to call.
Not sure how to bet on this one.

i guess Mikey on experience & those sharp counters.

It'll be 140; that is the only detail that is officially announced besides it being "somewhere in America, sometime in fall".

I don't know, Mikey said that he can't make that weight in the interview months ago.

This is a great matchup. It will shine a light on just how good the 140 division is right now as we have a fight to reference their talents by.

If the layoff and weight don’t do Garcia in, I expect he’d win by way of decision in a competitive match that might look a little too wide on the cards.

Intriguing match up this - how much has Mikey got left, and can Prograis eliminate the mistakes he made against Taylor and get at Garcia?

I'm assuming this will be at 147 because Garcia can't back down to 140, but I actually think that might benefit Rougarou.

Mikey has not looked quite as elite north of 135, but he has the capability to time and counter Prograis, bit Regis also has the power to keep Mikey honest as well.

Edit - just noted it's @140, that's a bit surprising to me, but as long as Mikey can make it (which he should really) I don't know it changes it too much

    Bring it on!
